The Meal Prep King Plan | Our Progress So Far…

Recently Ross and I bought The Meal Prep King Plan by John Clark (£12.99, Amazon). I discovered The Meal Prep King AKA John Clark on Tiktok where John, and his partner Charlotte, share their favourite recipes, weekly routine and weight-loss journey with their 730K followers. Together they have lost over 15 stone and this plan is designed to show others how permanent weight loss can be achieved in an easy, affordable, healthy way.

This book is brilliant if you are trying to lose weight, eat healthier or if you’re just trying to make sure you eat three healthy and satisfying meals a day. My husband has ADHD and finds it hard to stick to routines, especially around mealtimes. His medication can also act as a hunger suppressant. We both wanted to stop eating junk at random times of the day, skipping meals entirely and feeling so lethargic. That’s why this plan has been working so well for us.

The book contains 80 batch cook recipes, a structured easy to follow 3-week plan, pre-made shipping lists (which are an amazing time saver) and information on how to store and reheat your meals. There is also information about how to calculate your calorie intake and how to create different spice mixes that will elevate your dishes. Most meals can be stored for up to 3 days in the fridge and 3 months in the freezer. There is a mixture of snacks, meals, breakfast ideas and smoothies. You can also pick and choose the recipes to create your own 21-day plan.

We have been making our meals every Sunday morning and you can check out some of our creations over on my Instagram account. They are all saved on my ‘Meal Prep King’ highlight available to watch here. We purchased the Igluu Meal Prep Containers from Amazon to store and reheat our meals. They come with airtight lids and are microwavable, freezer and dishwasher safe. B&M also has their own version for half the price if you can get to one of their stores.

Some of our favourite recipes so far include the Feta & Chorizo Salad with Red Pepper Dressing, Roasted Tomato & Red Pepper Soup, Fully Loaded Dirty Fries; Tumeric Chicken with Rice and Greens, Garlic Chicken & Kale Spaghetti and Raspberry Pots.

The meals have been surprisingly filling and the plan is easy to follow and offers a lot of varied recipes. I really struggle to eat breakfast and often rely solely on coffee to supply my morning boost of energy, however, I’ve been really enjoying my Banana & Blueberry Mini Loaves and Tuna, Cheese & Egg Muffins. We’ve just finished the last day of the 21-plan and now feel ready to create our own. Preparing the majority of our meals on Sunday frees up so much time during the week and our mealtimes are no longer rushed. It feels great to know my freezer is full of healthy, nutritious and filling meals.
