Part 2 of my new series supporting small businesses I’ve recently discovered on Instagram (Read Part 1 HERE), is dedicated to Tales of Toria Soaps. I first saw this business pop up on one of my favourite accounts, KateLovesMagic, and knew I had to treat myself. Tales of Toria Soaps creates beautiful Disney inspired soaps and bath bombs. You’ll also find a few Harry Potter, Pokemon and Marvel (although I guess that’s classed as Disney now) creations on there too.
Tales of Toria Soaps was created in February 2020 after a trip to Walt Disney World left the owner with a serious case of the Disney Blues (I get you, girl). My order was very carefully wrapped and everything was sealed and surrounded in biodegradable pink packing peanuts to make sure my bath bombs arrived in pristine condition. There was also a little Twinning’s tea bag in there which was a lovely added touch. I ordered ‘The Lost Princess’ handmade bath bomb (£3.50) that contains, “herbal and floral aromas, reminiscent of a fresh spring garden in the morning as you head off to see the lanterns gleam” as well as the ‘Sorting Bomb’ (which I’ll talk to you about in a little bit) and also a bag of Whipped Pineapple Pixie Dust (300g/£4.50).
You simply sprinkle your desired amount of Pixie Dust into your bath water to create a magical swirl of creamy colour and delicious fragrance. Pineapple Whip smells unbelievable and I think it might be inspired by the famous Dole Whip, a pineapple-flavoured soft-serve ice cream, I’ve heard so many people in the Disney community talk about. Other Pixie Dust fragrances include Comforter, Snow Queen, Strawberry and Black Plum and Rhubarb. Just a quick warning, you can’t eat this; no matter how delicious it smells.
The product I was most excited about was the ‘Sorting Bomb’. This is a Harry Potter-inspired bath bomb with a secret colour inside that foams out to reveal which Hogwarts house you belong to. How amazing is that?! You might have saw my Instagram story revealing the signature Gryffindor red bubbling out mine. It’s scented with Butterbeer, which is unbelievably difficult to describe. I remember tasting it for the first time at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios and having the same difficulty. This bath bomb definitely unlocked some forgotten memory of me sipping the creamy vanilla/butterscotch/popcorn/pumpkin-spice from in the Florida sun whilst watching the beautiful ladies of Beauxbatons Academy delicately dancing with their twirling ribbons.
Other bath bombs currently available include Poor Unfortunate Souls (inspired by everyone’s favourite voluptuous villain), Healthcare Companion, Poison Apple, Heart of Te Fiti and Fly to Neverland. The selection of handcrafted soaps, Shower Bombs and Bubble Scoops look just as magical but I’ve yet to give them a try.
It’s worth noting that products are vegan and cruelty-free, SLS free, wrapped in environmentally friendly packaging and safety tested. Also, there are full ingredient lists available for each product on the website. This is a small business where each product is handmade with love, so if something you fancy isn’t currently available, don’t worry! There’s a re-stock every Friday at 6 pm and regular updates over on their Instagram stories HERE.
