Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream Review

It’s been a long time since I’ve bought myself a product from Charlotte Tilbury. A few years back, I was buying a lipstick every month, drooling over her stunning eyeshadow quads and drowning myself in their ‘Scent of a Dream’ perfume. It was my monthly boujee treat among B&M hauls, kid’s comics, food shops and bills. You can read all my previous reviews HERE. Unfortunately, one day my girls got a hold of my makeup bag and completely ruined most of my collection. A sad day. I’ve replaced a few items such as my Pillow Talk lipstick, bronzer and concealer but as for the rest, RIP. Thankfully, my skincare collection remains untouched by sticky toddler hands.

Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream Review

My favourite Charlotte Tilbury product has to be Charlotte’s Magic Cream. This iconic, thick, luxurious day cream is perfect for 30+ skin. In my 20s I was all about full coverage foundations, mattifying powders, scrubs and tea tree oil. Now, my skin requires hydration, plumping and I’m constantly trying to achieve that fresh-faced healthy glow. This moisturiser ticks all those boxes.

Ingredients: AQUA/WATER/EAU, HOMOSALATE, GLYCERYL STEARATE SE, ETHYLHEXYL SALICYLATE, BUTYLENE GLYCOL, GLYCERIN, BUTYL METHOXYDIBENZOYLMETHANE, OCTOCRYLENE, CETYL ALCOHOL, C12-15 ALKYL BENZOATE, CYCLOPENTASILOXANE, DIMETHICONE, PHENOXYETHANOL, BUTYROSPERMUM PARKII (SHEA BUTTER), STEARETH-21, AVENA SATIVA (OAT) KERNEL EXTRACT, CARBOMER, DIMETHICONOL, POTASSIUM CETYL PHOSPHATE, CHLORPHENESIN, CAPRYLYL GLYCOL, XANTHAN GUM, HYDROLYZED VIOLA TRICOLOR EXTRACT, ALLANTOIN, ALOE BARBADENSIS LEAF JUICE, DISODIUM EDTA, TOCOPHERYL ACETATE, CAMELLIA OLEIFERA SEED OIL, ROSA CANINA FRUIT OIL, ROSA DAMASCENA EXTRACT, SODIUM HYDROXIDE, HELIANTHUS ANNUUS (SUNFLOWER) SEED OIL, MICHELIA ALBA LEAF OIL, SODIUM LACTATE, COCO-GLUCOSIDE, PEG-8, ETHYLHEXYLGLYCERIN, SODIUM HYALURONATE, TOCOPHEROL, PALMITOYL TETRAPEPTIDE-7, PALMITOYL TRIPEPTIDE-1, ASCORBYL PALMITATE, PLUMERIA RUBRA FLOWER EXTRACT, ASCORBIC ACID, CITRIC ACID, NICOTIANA SYLVESTRIS LEAF CELL CULTURE, LINALOOL, CITRONELLOL, GERANIOL.

Originally created backstage to instantly prep and transform the look of models’ skin before fashion shows, this cream claims to moisturise for 24 hours, reduce the appearance of wrinkles and transform dull skin into a glowy, dewy canvas perfect for the application of makeup. I can honestly say, it delivers on those promises. My skin instantly looks healthier, plumper and more youthful. It sinks into my skin and instantly transforms it. In my opinion, it completely lives up to the hype. The formula contains hyaluronic acid, camellia oil, rosehip oil, shea butter, aloe vera and frangipani flower extract (this probably explains how highly fragranced it is).

Now for the downside, I go through my tub incredibly quickly and that’s a huge problem considering 30ml retails for an eyewatering £49. Sadly, it’s not a product I can justify buying monthly and, quite frankly, I think the price is outrageous. I’ve had a quick look online for more affordable dupes and the Paula’s Choice Skin Recovery Replenishing Moisturiser pops up time and time again. Unfortunately, this doesn’t seem to be available on either their UK site or Cult Beauty.
