In my home, my wax burner is always lit with some heavenly scented loveliness melting inside. I used to solely use my electric Scentsy burner, however, after extensive testing, I find that wax melts in a traditional tealight burner have a more intense smell as they tend to reach a higher temperature. I previously stuck to using Yankee Candle wax melts, but since I’ve grown a following within the cleaning community on Instagram, I’ve been introduced to a huge range of small businesses that create wonderful home fragrance products all hand-poured, beautifully packaged and CLP compliant.
There are several brands I shop from as I buy an embarrassingly large amount of wax melts each month – it’s become a bit of a problem! I think it stems from the fear of my home smelling like toddler pee and dog. I overcompensate by filling my house with gorgeously scented snapbars. One of the brands I adore is Sassy Shop Wax. I love them because their wax melts tend to be a lot stronger and longer lasting than other companies I’ve bought from. Their shop is always stocked with wonderful new fragrances, however, be warned, they sell out fast as they are hugely popular. The bars come in beautiful colours and are often topped with biodegradable glitter.
Their snapbars retail for £2.90 each, which is unbelievably affordable compared to some other brands. Two cubes typically give up to 12 hours of scent – that works out to only 58p per two cubes. So far I’ve tried Snow Pixie, Snug as a Bug, Bedtime Baby, Snow Kissed Mittens, Spa Day and Soft Towels… and loved every single one.
Snow Pixie | This is a vibrant, sweet, fruity accord with notes of bubble-gum, banana, pear drops, musk and vanilla with sweet candy floss.
Bedtime Baby | This scent is reminiscent of Johnson’s Baby bedtime bath. It is the soothing bedtime blend of mandarin, lavender and chamomile, neroli and lily of the valley. Bottom notes of hay and musk.
