Mask Time | A Korean Sheet Mask Subscription Box

As soon as my two girls are in bed and the house is semi clean-looking, my Sunday night routine usually involves running a hot bath, lighting my favourite Sweet Almond & Macaroon Jo Malone candle and popping on a sheet mask. Sheet masks originated from South Korea, and if you haven’t tried one (what are you waiting for?) it’s basically a one size fits all paper, cotton or gel type mask which is infused with various ingredients and generally soaked in essences or serums. You simply pop one on and let it do all the work. You can read all about my favourites here and here.

Recently, I was kindly sent the May ‘Glow Starter Box’ (£9.95) from Mask Time to try out. There are various boxes available, the Glow Starter Box is perfect for any k-beauty newbies wanting to explore brands such as Skin79, Etude House, Tony Moly and Holika Holika. The box contains 4 masks which focus on hydration and achieving a fresh-faced glow. There is also a premium box available which retails for £18.95 that contains 8-10 masks with more diverse functions and higher quality ingredients. There are also specially curated boxes designed to target the needs of specific skincare types which you can find here.

May’s Glow Starter Box contained four masks from Duft & Doft including their Black Therapy Customized Refining Mask, SalmonVGene™ Hydro Active Mask, Hydra Soother Deep Hydration Mask and Pink Milk Mask. First of all, I love the simple baby pink packaging. This boxes would make a lovely gift as all the mask were safely wrapped in tissue paper inside. The mask themselves are some of the best I’ve tried so far. I love how comfortably they sunk into the contours of my face. Some masks are absolutely huge or have oddly positioned holes but these ones were very easy to apply and cling securely to my face. The sheets are soft but durable enough that they won’t rip when removing them from the packet. My favourite of the four masks was the Hydra Soother Deep Hydration Mask (aka ‘the blue one’). It contains Aloe Vera, Green Tea and Hyaluronic Acid and gives an instant boost of moisture which leaves your skin instantly feeling soft, plump and hydrated.
