There are a few drugstore (or highstreet, if you prefer) makeup products that really do stand the test of time and are exceptional value for money. If someone new to the world of makeup, who also has a limited budget, asked me to put together a list of basic, affordable products to start their makeup kit I’d probably recommend the following: Revlon Colorstay Foundation, Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder, Milani Rose Powder Blush, Revolution Skin Kiss Highlighter, NYX Micro Brow Pencil and the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer; just to name a few.
The Lasting Perfection Concealer has been the jewel in Collection’s crown for as long as I can remember… and with an extended shade range, it’s now even better. I’ve been a fan of Lasting Perfection for years but the lightest shade ‘Fair’ matched my exact skin tone, meaning it was perfect for covering blemishes, pores and discolouration, however, didn’t brighten my undereye area as well as my trusty Tape Shape or Elf 16Hr Camo. Now with 10 shades (plus yellow and green colour correctors), this concealer has found its way back into my daily rotation. Basically, the hype is real; it’s a bestseller for a reason, people. It’s buildable medium-to-full coverage formula isn’t thick and cakey. It blends flawlessly and is incredibly long-lasting (it’s both transfer proof and water resistant).
I really am struggling to come up with any negatives for this concealer. The Lasting Perfection Foundation which I reviewed a few months ago is also worth a look too. The shade ‘Extra Fair’ brightens my dark circles perfectly and I reach for it daily. It’s fuss-free and worth every penny.
