Sunday Night Catch-up

I wanted to sit and chat for a bit because it’s been a while and there’s been a lot of changes happening. As you can tell, my blog has undergone a bit of a makeover. It wasn’t planned and there were a few tears but thankfully we’re back up and running. If any links or menus don’t work please let me know, I won’t be offended in the slightest! I used to think that to have a blog, all you have to do was write a post and hit the publish button. Done. Now, I’m trying to wrap my head around HTML, hosts and IPS tags. There’s been a lot of issues behind the scenes that I, and a lot of other bloggers, have been trying to fix. Pay attention during Computer Studies at school kids, you’ll never know when you’ may actually need it.

M&S Salted Caramel and Chocolate Hot Cross Buns

Basically, there was evidence, brought to light on Twitter by developers, that the themes many bloggers had been using contained malicious code. I’m not here to bash anyone, especially when I still don’t fully understand the ins and outs, however, the security of my blog and the trust of my readers is hella important so I decided to jump ship. Thanks, to the team at kotrynabassdesign.com, I now have a beautiful new design which came with free installation. I can’t fault their service. My theme was installed within hours and they always responded to my emails and really obvious questions quickly and with the utmost of patience. I also purchased a new simple but chic header from SheShoppesCo over on Etsy.

Not only do I have a beautiful new blog theme, but I’ve also changed hosts. The super helpful team at Kualo managed to migrate me from SiteGround (I can confirm that the £218 renewal bill they sent me on April 1st was NOT an April Fool) and transferred my domain registration from GoDaddy across to them too. Now everything is now under the same roof and they offered me 2 years free hosting for being a former Pipdig customer. That is service. They have gone above and beyond to help sort out this mess and it’s truly appreciated. Anyway, if you’re not a blogger I’ve probably completely lost you but to be completely honest I have no idea what I’m talking about either. Basically, my blog needed a lot of TLC and I just want to give a massive thank you to Kualo, Kotryna Bass Design and all the bloggers (especially @Lottie_Lamour) and developers on Twitter who had to dumb down the whole situation for me and offered their support and guidance. Also, even though it’s been a complete pain in the arse and I’m positive a few tears have been shed and a few bottles of wine have been opened, I’m loving seeing everyone’s new blogs. Do me a favour and check out Gemma Etc., She Might Be Loved, The Curvaceous Vegan and Allure La Vie, as their blogs are looking particularly gorgeous right now.

I also want to take this opportunity to give a shoutout to some other non-blogger related goodies I’ve been loving this month:

First up, M&S Salted Caramel and Chocolate Hot Cross Buns. Whoever recommended these to me on Twitter – you are an angel! They are delicious, sticky and packed with spices and chocolate chips. Go buy them immediately; you will NOT be disappointed.

Fleabag. Possibly the best program I’ve watched in years? With Killing Eve possible being the second. Phoebe Waller-Bridge knows how to write real, messy, struggling, intelligent female characters. Every single cast member nails it. Sian Clifford was really the highlight for me. I love how bloody rude and quick she is and her scenes with Phoebe are a masterpiece. Obviously, Olivia Coleman is perfect too; nothing new there then.

Eylure Pre-Glued Lashes. Can’t apply false lashes because of your twitchy eyes, poor spacial awareness and shakey hands? Pre-glued lashes are a game changer. The pair I wore at my friend’s wedding didn’t budge all night and they are one of the only pairs I’ve actually managed to apply.

There are so many things I’m looking forward to in the next couple of weeks. Going to the midnight showing of Avengers: Endgame, seeing Matilda at Edinburgh Playhouse and my friend’s hen party. What are you looking forward to and what have you been loving lately?
