As a ‘Love Your Body Club’ member, I regularly collect points and rack up rewards to put towards purchasing the Fresh Nude Foundation in Bora Bora from The Body Shop (£16 | 30ml). It’s one of my favourite foundations and a bottle can always be found on my dressing table. It’s a little up there in price but, in my opinion, it’s worth every penny; plus there’s almost always a promo code live that you can take advantage of. Every time I use this foundation I can’t help but think, “why are not more people talking about you?”.
This foundation gives light to medium coverage, contains SPF 15 and is currently available in 16 ‘nature-inspired’ shades. There is a foundation brush available to purchase here, although I prefer to use my BeautyBlender to build up the coverage. Fresh Nude is described as a semi-matte finish on the site but I’d say it leans more on the dewy side. It shares a lot of similarities with the Charlotte Tilbury Light Wonder, another one of my holy grail base products. It gives a beautiful fresh-faced lit-from-within glow to the face. The hydrating formula is enriched with English rose water and aloe vera, this helps skin feel soft, bouncy and look hydrated and fresh. It’s very lightweight and even though I find myself needing a powder touchup throughout the day (oily skin types may find it a touch too ‘slippy’) on my nose and chin, the same can be said for most of the foundations in my collection; so it’s not a dealbreaker.
If you’re looking for a natural finish, that will give your skin a youthful glow this is the foundation for you. The coverage is light but it’s buildable and covers all the discolouration around my nose, blurs my pores and doesn’t settle into fine lines. It’s hydrating and slightly dewy but doesn’t leave skin feeling wet or shiny. It’s very much a ‘your skin but better’ finish. This foundation definitely doesn’t get the press and attention it deserves and I honestly think The Body Shop’s makeup collection on a whole is overlooked entirely. Their Honey Bronzer is also one of the most used makeup products in my collection and I’d never find myself without a bottle of their trusty Shade Adjusting Lightening Drops.
