Going travelling and having to pack a wash bag full of your favourite skincare products can be a tricky process. Narrowing down your collection and packing only the essentials is difficult, but it’s actually a great way of figuring out which products are daily essentials and which one’s are cluttering up your sink space. I own an embarrassingly large amount of cleansers; balms, oils, creams, milks – you name it, I got it. When I pack for a holiday, I always find myself reaching for the DHC Face Wash Powder (£10.50 | 50g). The packaging is very basic but the baby blue bottle barely weighs a thing, which makes it perfect for travelling with. The water transforms the powder into a lather that removes makeup and leaves skin feeling incredibly soft. The protease enzymes inside help to dissolve dead skin cells and the lavender flower extract gently calms the skin to help avoid any irritation. It’s particularly good for when the weather is humid as it gets rid of all the surface impurities without completely stripping my skin of moisture and leaving it feeling tight and dry.
I made full use of REN’s Black Friday offers last year and received several free gifts which included multiple deluxe samples of the Ready Steady Glow Daily AHA Tonic (£25 | 250ml). This one of my all-time favourite skincare products and you can find out why here. As for eye makeup remover, you can’t beat this classic from Nivea. I’ve used the Nivea Eye Make-Up Remover Double Effect (£3.49 | 125ml) for what feels like years. The packaging is handbag friendly, it’s cheap as chips and the formula is very gentle as well as being incredibly effective at removing even the most stubborn liquid eyeliner. There is no rubbing or dragging needed and it’s a quick way to prevent the dreaded morning-after panda eyes.
Other products in my holiday makeup bag include my Sunday Riley Luna Sleeping Oil (I’m on a mission to use it religiously and find out whether or not the hype is justified) the new REN Glow Vitamin C Gel Cream (it gives an instant boost of radiance which is handy especially if your sitting through a long-haul flight) and finally the Antipodes Manuka Honey Eye Cream (provides instant relief for exhausted/hungover eyes). As for body products I tend to keep it simple with a few of my favourites from The Body Shop (I highly recommend you try both the Almond Milk & Honey and the Strawberry collection) and another one of my secret weapons from REN, the AHA Smart Renewal Body Serum. It could be my imagination, but this lotion has really helped even out my skin tone and slightly firm my postpregnancy wobbly bits so it’s one of my newest holiday essentials.
