Maui Moisture Coconut Milk Shampoo & Conditioner For Dry Hair

I don’t really spend a lot of time or money my hair, it’s actually severely neglected. It hasn’t been the same since my pregnancy. It was always thick and frizzy but now it’s incredibly dry and prone to breakage. My postpartum hair is also starting to go silvery grey at the roots so I stick on a box of dye once a month, add a little Morraconoil to tame the frizz, pop it up in a ‘mum bun’ and go about my day. I recently came to the end of the Merlin Professional products I was sent from Fabriah and was looking for something that would also help to hydrate and nourish my hair without weighing it down. I picked up the Maui Moisture Coconut Milk Shampoo & Conditioner for Dry Hair at ASDA over three weeks ago. It’s also available in Boots and Superdrug but retails for £9 a bottle so is a little up there in price for a high street haircare brand.

Maui Nouish & Moisture Coconut Milk Shampoo & Conditioner For Dry Hair

I was a bit confused about which products to actually buy at first as my hair fell under so many of Maui Moisture’s categories. They have a wide range of formulas to choose from including Colour Protect with Sea Minerals, Smooth & Revive with Vanilla Bean, Revive & Hydrate with Shea Butter and Strength & Anti-Breakage with Agave, all of which describe my hair at the moment. There is also Curl Quench with Coconut Oil and Thicken & Restore with Bamboo Fibres available. I have to admit, it was the packaging that initially grabbed my attention. The vibrant blue and the uniquely shaped bottle really stands out in a sea of white, yellow & brown shampoo tubes.

The Maui Moisture collection is vegan-friendly and full of lovely natural ingredients. There are no mineral oils, SLS, silicones or sulfates inside. They are also gluten-free, which is something I didn’t even consider an issue when it comes to hair care so I found that interesting.  Aloe juice is actually the first ingredient which is then combined with pure coconut oil, guava oil and mango butter. As you can imagine both the shampoo and conditioner smell incredible but I’m unsure how much this is to do with the actual ingredients or the added fragrance. I knew I’d love these products from the very first time I tried them. They leave my hair feeling silky soft and like its old self again. When I style my hair after shampooing with my Wet Brush, there are very few tugs and, even after styling, it feels more manageable and less thirsty and dry than I’m used to. They don’t leave any residue or heaviness to my hair either. I do still have a few wispy bits around my face due to all the breakage I had after having Poppy, so I think I’ll probably purchase the Weightless Oil Mist that accompanies this duo too. The only issue I had with these products is that the formula is so thick, it can make squeezing out a decent amount, especially when you’re all wet and soapy in the shower, really difficult which can be frustrating.

The Maui Moisture Coconut Milk Shampoo & Conditioner for Dry Hair retails for £8.99 each for 385ml and is available at Boots.
