I don’t know about you, but I’m not ready to get back to ‘normality’ quite yet. Even though my Christmas tree is down, my house is still covered in fairy lights, my gingerbread scented candles are still burning away and my diet still consists of mostly cheese, Lindt truffles and leftovers. My birthday is just in a few short weeks, however, I still find January to be pretty miserable. What I do like about the new year is having the perfect excuse to pamper myself with all the bath goodies I received for Christmas. I intended for today’s two products from Rituals to feature in my beauty stocking filler post but they didn’t arrive until a few days after it was scheduled to go live. It worked out okay in the end because these two products are so lovely that they deserve a post all to themselves.
The Ritual of Holi collection is inspired by the Hindi festival of colour where perfumed coloured powder – or gulal – is thrown into the air. To my knowledge, this is in celebration of Krishna and Radha’s love and beautiful explosions of the powder can be seen on the outside of the packaging. This collection is definitely more whimsical and carefree than other products in the Rituals collection and offers a lovely pick-me-up to help chase away the January blues.
The range includes crackling body mouses, shower jellies, bath bombs and even a rubber mask that I’m dying to try out. I was sent the Holi Moly Foaming Shower Gel (£6.50) and the Party Time Confetti Body Scrub (£7.50). A long bubble bath is my idea of heaven but, let’s face it, I rarely have time to enjoy such an extravagance so I was delighted to receive two products that add a cheeky bit of fun to my otherwise bland morning shower. The gel transforms into a thick luxurious frothy lather scented with Flamingo Flower and pink grapefruit. It leaves skin feeling silky soft and can be used to prep your legs whilst shaving too. The scrub contains tiny specks of colour and gently exfoliates your skin whilst leaving a lingering scent of White Lily and Peach Flower. It’s not the most powerful exfoliant in the world but it’s gorgeous fragrance more than makes up for this. I’m a huge fan of this collection’s happy-go-lucky vibe and it serves as a nice breath of fresh air to the Rituals family.
The Ritual of Holi collection by Rituals is now available at Look Fantastic, Feel Unique and their official website here.
