Hugo’s Chocolate Club is an irresistible artisan chocolate subscription service that delivers scrumptious goodies hand-picked from four different producers to your doorstep every month. What more could a girl ask for? Each box contains a selection of fine chocolates and detailed producer biographies and tasting guides for a fully immersive tasting experience.
So what can you expect in September’s box? Inside is a selection of full-sized treats from four different producers all passionate about chocolate. The award-winning Corazon del Ecuador Bar from Duffy’s contains oak smoked salt and cocoa nibs which gives it a crunchy texture and an undertone of salted caramel. The beans used to produce the chocolate are directly sourced from a small farm, Camino Verde Cacao, in the Guayas region of Ecuador who are paid above the Fairtrade price.
Coco Chocolatier is an Edinburgh based company who collaborate with local and international artists who design their eye-catching packaging. Their milk chocolate and honey bar is sweet, sticky and deliciously moreish. It really is a heavenly flavour combination that doesn’t disappoint.
The Raspberry Delight Bar from Birmingham based chocolate producers, Kneals Chocolates, is an absolute triumph. It contains quality, rich dark chocolate filled with raspberry ganache sprinkled with dried raspberries on top to give it some extra zing. It’s absolutely beautiful and happens to be my favourite treat out the whole bunch.
The last treat in the September box is a packet of wonderful truffles from The Chocolate Cottage. They almost look too good to eat. There are two flavours: Lemon Meringue Pie and Eton Mess. The inside is smooth and creamy and the chunks of meringues on top give it a little crunch. The combination of flavours and textures is mouthwatering and I could have eaten three more packets.
