With brands constantly churning out new palettes and collections every other month, I often find that eyeshadow palettes and concepts are almost thrown together for the sake of an extra buck rather than producing one high-quality product that clearly a lot of love and attention has gone into. I’ve been waiting a long time for my second chance to own a limited edition 12-pan eyeshadow palette from Charlotte Tilbury. I stupidly didn’t realise how limited edition the Instant Eye Palette actually was and missed out in adding it to my collection. When photos of the Stars In Your Eyes Palette flooded Instagram with rumours of a September release date, I made sure I had a few pennies saved up in anticipation. I have to admit, I didn’t expect the price tag to be so steep but I justified it by deciding I deserved something sparkly and pretty after giving birth to Poppy.
There’s no denying how beautiful it is. I was torn between wanting to apply all the shadows on my eyelids the moment I opened it and wanting to keep it as untouched and perfect for as long as possible. This really is luxury makeup at it’s finest. The Stars In Your Eyes Palette retails for *gulp* £60 and contains 12 eyeshadows divided into 4 eye looks to inspire Love, Power, Happiness and Confidence. I love the layout of this palette. As much as I adore makeup, I’m an eyeshadow novice who tends to stick to what she knows so I appreciate how simple this palette is to use. There is nothing worse than staring into a palette and not having a clue where to start or having to dip into another to complete your look. This palette has a bit of everything all laid out and ready to go. It encapsulates the effortless glamour Charlotte is known for without any confusion or fuss…
Each look in the palette was carefully curated by Charlotte. The ‘Love’ look contains three rose quartz-inspired shades, with sweet, soft pink hues to reflect the stone of unconditional love. The ‘Happy’ look includes sun-lit amber shades, the ‘Power’ look consists of mesmerising golden shimmers and the ‘Confidence’ look features topaz-ruby inspired shades symbolising fire, heat and purity with bold burgundy hues. The shimmers in this palette as magnificent. You don’t even need to wet your brush for them to look absolutely dazzling. There’s no layering required as they apply opaque with an even texture and blend out with minimal fallout. The mattes feel quite dry and powdery at first swatch and I was worried they’d apply patchy, however, thankfully they fluff out easily and evenly…
The Stars In Your Eyes Palette is simply beautiful and was undoubtedly worth the wait. I adore everything about it from the luxurious and almost festive packaging, the insane pigmentation, the layout and the dazzling combination of shades. Thankfully it was £60 well spent and I know I’ll get a huge amount of use out of it as it would have broken my heart to invest so much into a palette that turned out to be a flop. In this case, the hype is real and if you’re looking for an extra, extra, extra special gift for a loved one I definitely recommend snatching one of these up before it disappears for good.
