My recent purchase from TK Maxx (here) has reignited my love for rose infused skincare. I’m not sure why my skin responds so well to this particular ingredient, but my complexion always looks healthier, plumper and more balanced when I add one to my skincare routine. Previous rose-based products that have done wonders for my skin include the Neal’s Yard Remedies Wild Rose Beauty Balm, The Ordinary’s Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil and the Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Face Cream. It’s safe to say, I’ve been eyeing up the new Pixi skincare collection for some time now too. I’ve been using the Super Facialist Rose Hydrate Calming Creamy Cleanser for a couple of month’s and it’s left me wondering why I hadn’t tried this brand a lot sooner…
To be honest, I never hear a lot of buzz around Super Facialist. The display in Boots itself way hidden and unloved. I think my interest in the brand first peeked whilst reading about their Vitamin C Cleansing Oil back in June over at beautyqueenuk.co.uk. Super Facialist is a cruelty-free skincare range suitable for all skin types. They combine natural extracts, high-performance scientific ingredients and exquisite aromas to deliver the best results for healthy, beautiful and youthful looking skin at an affordable price. They currently have 6 key collections: Rose (Hydration), Vitamin C (Brightening), Salicylic Acid (Anti-Blemish), Retinol (Anti-Aging), Hyaluronic Acid (Firming) and Pure (Sensitive).
The Super Facialist Rose Hydrate Calming Creamy Cleanser is a simple product that works. There is nothing particularly ground-breaking about the packaging; it’s whats inside that counts. Unsurprisingly, the cleanser has a strong floral scent. I can’t help but chuckle when I read customer reviews criticising this. I mean, really, what did you expect? The cream is incredibly thick and is heavenly to massage into your skin. The cleanser is formulated with shea and cocoa butter plus Pro-Vitamin B5 to remove makeup, impurities and oils without drying the skin. It also contains Marshmallow and Allantoin to further help to soothe and restore the skin’s natural ph balance.
I have combination skin and this cleanser does a fabulous job of keeping dry areas hydrated without breaking the rest of my skin out. It’s simple yet effective formula has restored balance and harmony to my complexion. I do need to use a micellar water afterwards as it doesn’t completely remove stubborn mascara, however, I can forgive this as my skin feels velvety soft and completely pampered after each use.
The Super Facialist Rose Hydrate Calming Creamy Cleanser (£7.99) may not come in fancy packaging or with a high-end price tag but it’s definitely worth a try, especially if you have dry or sensitive skin.
