Believe the Hype | Cult Beauty Buys Worth the Investment…

High-end makeup is a luxury many of us beauty lovers splurge on because we have an undying passion for makeup, a love for beautiful packaging, a devotion to a specific brand or we just want to treat ourselves to something pretty. Many have been quick to judge my spending habits (I got a lot of flack for my Hourglass Setting Powder) but as I see it, I don’t drink or smoke, I’m not into fashion and, to be honest, regardless of any of those things, it’s my hard-earned money and I’ll spend it any damn way I please. Makeup and skincare make me happy. As much as I like to live a little extravagantly sometimes, I try to spend my money wisely. There is nothing worse than spending £20+ an over-hyped lipstick that turns out to be a big fat disappointment. Here are a few cult beauty products you’ve probably seen all over social media, blogs and magazines that actually DO live up to the hype and are worth investing in…

Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow Liquid Eye Shadows

One for the Glitter Lover…

There is no escaping the huge hype surrounding the Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow Liquid Eye Shadow Collection. Ever since their launch brands have been scrambling to replicate the highly-pigmented, long-wearing, intensely dazzling formula but, in my opinion, you just can’t beat the original. These are simply beautiful and worth every penny. They are perfect for the makeup novice who craves dramatic high-impact NikkieTutorials-esque eyes but worries about glittery fallout, patchiness and application in general. Simply apply a little on to your eye using the sponge-tipped applicator and quickly blend. They dry down comfortably and will last all night long. The shimmer the mixture of finely milled pearl and glitter produces is incredible. At £23 a pop, I can understand some people’s hesitation but, I promise, you won’t be disappointed.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Soft Glam Eyeshadow Palette

A Classic Never Goes Out of Style…

I know what you’re thinking, another nude palette? Hardly revolutionary, I know, but I swear, it’s the ONLY one you’ll ever need. If your everyday look mostly consists of a combination of neutral shades, a little sparkle and rose tones you’ll fall head-over-heels with the Anastasia Beverly Hills Soft Glam Eyeshadow Palette. I reach for it most days. It contains most of the shades I already have in my collection but the formula is so creamy and easy to work with that it’s an absolute dream to use. Every shade is richly pigmented and blends flawlessly. Every shade works harmoniously together to create a range of effortless but beautiful looks. It’s a simple concept but, wow, does it deliver. Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray

Highly Recommended…

There are two products I purchase religiously because I honestly believe that they are the best in their respective fields. I’m never without them and soon as I’m running low I always make sure I have a top-up handy. These are the Tarte Shape Tape Concealer and the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray. I highly recommend both products. Shape Tape is the best full coverage concealer I’ve purchased and All Nighter keeps my makeup in place for longer than any other spray I’ve tried. I really can’t fault them.

What cult beauty products can you not live without?
