Isn’t it typical that when I happen to stumble across a new Revolution Pro stand in my local Superdrug that I had less than £10 in my purse? Choosing between this and one of the Regeneration Eyeshadow Palettes was a difficult decision but, let’s face it, a girl can never have too many highlighters. The Revolution Pro Supreme Highlight Palette is available in three different combinations; Ice, Metals and Gold, and retails for £6.
The Revolution Pro Supreme Highlight Palette in Ice contains a trio of metallic blue, champagne and pink with a holographic shift. I know in my heart, even though it is undeniably beautiful, I’ll probably never use the blue shade, however, the champagne and pink were just too pretty to pass on. The packaging is relatively simple but I love the wave design on top.
Each shade feels soft and buttery, not at all chalky, and has a smooth texture with an even distribution of glitter and shimmer. These are intense highlighters so if you’re looking for a subtle glow go in carefully with your brush and slowly build up to your desired coverage. I love the champagne shade, it’s very cooled toned and icy which is perfect for my pale complexion, however, the pink translates at lilac on my skin and looks a little too severe for everyday wear.
It wasn’t until I got home that I realised I already had a highlighting palette incredibly similar to this one in my collection! Does anyone else do this? Buy the same nude lipstick shade or neutral eyeshadow palette over and over again, just in different packaging? Oops. As I said, when it comes to a pretty highlighter I just can’t help myself. I purchased the NYX Love You So Mochi Highlighting Palette in Arcade Glam £17 from Cult Beauty a few months ago. It contains the same icy, holographic shades in the same basic packaging but get this, the Revolution Pro Supreme Highlight Palette blows it out of the water in terms of pigment, just check out the comparisons below.
I’m really impressed with the Revolution Pro Supreme Highlight Palette in Ice. Yes, the shades can be a touch crumbly if you really stick your finger into them but the colour payoff is so intense that you really don’t need to. The shades are also a touch on the glittery side but easy to blend and last well throughout the day. The champagne shade is so stunning it’s worth the £6 all on its own in my opinion. The palette really is dreamy and although the shades might not be the most universally flattering, the pigmentation is incredible for such a low price point. This my first purchase from the Revolution Pro collection and I will definitely be making another soon.
