The last few weekends have been lovely and Penny and I have made full use of all the glorious sunshine. As we gear up to summer, let’s talk children’s clothing, toys and sun protection with Nivea, La Coqueta & Little Tikes…
Using the right sun protection is incredibly important. Penny and I are typical milk-bottle white lassies from Scotland and we virtually burst into flames as soon as we enter the garden! Keeping ourselves topped with a high SPF is a must. Right now, we’re using the Nivea Sun Kids Moisturising Sun Spray SPF 50+ (£7 | 200ml). It features a green coloured spray which disappears when rubbed in, which helps to ensure even coverage and highly effective UVA/UVB protection for Penny’s delicate skin.
If you’re looking for beautiful, practical and high-quality clothes for babies, I highly recommend you check out London-based children’s boutique La Coqueta. Their beautiful collection aims to promote and support Spanish design and craftsmanship. Penny loves this adorable turquoise and fuchsia Agrimonia Smock Romper from La Coqueta. The bold floral design and butterfly sleeves are just as sweet as the little lady wearing it. The leg holes are elasticated to ensure a comfortable fit and there are buttons between the legs to ensure easy nappy access. The romper is made in Spain and from 100% cotton, however, it’s very lightweight and perfect for the warmer weather.
Popping on a romper (or jumpsuit) is an easy way to dress your little one in a stylish outfit without having to try and coordinate separate pieces. Penny can move freely in this and it’s both practical and stylish enough to be worn when both playing around the garden and paired with cute sandals and a cardigan for when we’re going out to lunch. La Coqueta also stock a range of matching accessories including bows, hairbands, booties and bonnets for both boys and girls from newborn babies up to 10 years.
When it comes to entertainment, the Little Tikes Fountain Factory Water Table is the perfect toy for playing in the garden this spring/summer. It includes interchangeable pipes, fittings and accessories that bring science and engineering learning to children from 24 months all the way up to 5 years. It was easy to build and comes with an easy-drain plug for a quick cleanup. The children can control the water pump which fills the tower that then flows to three fountains were a peek-a-boo character rises with the water and multiple taps can be adjusted to manipulate the flow of water. Penny loves her water table and wasted no time stripping down to her vest and chucking all her teddies in! Obviously, her favourite thing to do is to splash mummy.
Finally, Penny’s favourite outside toy is the Turbo Bubble Fountain which produces up to 20,000 bubbles in 5 minutes! It’s pretty intense, but Penny loves running barefoot through the garden chasing and popping the bubbles. The bubble solution inside doesn’t last very long so be prepared to run back and forth with more mixture every couple of minutes. It’s worth it to see the excitement on her face! Definitely a summer must-have!
Since we landscaped the garden last year, we try to make the most out of it as best we can. We’re counting down the days to summer, especially since Penny’s birthday is in July (I’m already planning a huge family BBQ), but we’re loving the sunny spring weekends we’ve been having recently. Thanks to La Coqueta, Penny has the perfect summer outfit – I can’t wait to take her to the beach in it; she STILL hasn’t been yet!
How do you like to make the most of warm, sunny days as we gear up to summer?
