It’s been a while since I’ve made an Essence order at Wilko but after months of waiting for the new You Better Work! Gym-Proof Primer to finally be restocked online, I couldn’t wait any longer! I still desperately need it in my life, so fingers crossed I’ll get my hands on it soon. In the meantime, I can’t recommend the Fresh & Fit Awake Primer highly enough. The only item in my little haul that I’ve tried before is the Camouflage Full Coverage Concealer. This has been a favourite of mine for years. It’s an incredibly long lasting full coverage concealer that covers dark circles and imperfections effortlessly. It’s an absolute steal at £2.50.
I am a huge fan of Essence mascaras so I immediately snapped up the new Super Curl Eye-Opening Volume Mascara and Volume Hero Power Black Mascara (£3 each) without a second thought. I also picked up the Volume Booster Lash Primer (£2.80) on a whim as I’ve never been a fan of lash primers and don’t think they are entirely necessary but, once again, curiosity got the best of me.
I picked up three brushes from their new makeup brush collection: a tapered Bronzer Brush, a fan-shaped Flat Powder Brush and a densely packed Buffer Brush (£3.50 each). I love the design of these, the bristles feel soft and the handles have a nice weight to them. I picked up the Brighten Up! Banana Powder (£3) after seeing it pop up regularly on Tati’s YouTube channel. I’ve never tried a banana powder before so I’m really curious to see what the fuss is all about and whether or not it will work on my pale skin.
Finally, I added two shades (03 Pink Interest & 04 Woody Rosy) from the new Colour Boost Vinyl Liquid Lipstick collection to my basket. At only £2.80 each, on the surface, these look like a possible dupe of the Too Faced Melted Liquified Lipsticks. There are a lot more shades available since I made my order and they claim to be richly pigmented with a high gloss finish.
