Essence Colour Boost Vinylicious Liquid Lipstick

The Essence Colour Boost Vinylicious Liquid Lipstick is available in 10 shades which range from nudes, pinks and deep berries. I picked up two shades: 03 Pink Interest and 04 Woody Rosy online at Wilko for £2.80 each. The packaging immediately reminded me of the Too Faced liquid lipstick range and Essence actually claim that the Vinylicious Lipsticks contain a formula “reminiscent of melted latex” in the description, another nod to the bestselling collection from Too Faced.

These shades looked the most appealing for looking at online swatches. Pink Interest is an easy to wear, high-gloss, muted pink and Woody Rose is a dusky nude pink. The sponge-tipped wand applicator has a dip in the middle to help it mould to the shape of your lips. It’s easy to use, picks up a lot of product and is very precise.

The formula doesn’t cling to dry patches and gives a pretty wash of colour to the lips which makes them look plumper. I’d say the shades I chose definitely translate as more of a gloss than a lipstick, but they are very pretty nonetheless with good coverage. Like the Essence Shine, Shine, Shine Lipgloss Collection, the Vinylicious liquid lipsticks aren’t sticky or heavy. The feel more like a nourishing lip oil or balm. They aren’t transfer-proof but last well throughout the day when untouched and they are easy to reapply at a moments notice.

Essence Colour Boost Vinylicious Liquid Lipstick - Swatches

As you can tell from the swatches above, the liquid lipsticks give a stunning high shine finish. Essence lip products are known for their yummy scents and the Vinylicious lipsticks contain a hint of the same raspberry-ripple type scent as others in my collection do but way more toned down. These lipsticks are light, nourishing and easy to wear. My lips look fuller and more kissable without feeling sticky or overloaded with product. I’ll get a lot of wear out of these shades and I’m looking forward to adding more to my collection. I’m a fan of the tube packaging, although it doesn’t feel particularly full, it does allow you to get every little bit of product out of the packaging.

The Essence Colour Boost Vinylicious Liquid Lipsticks are amazing value for money and if you suffer from sensitive lips that dry up at even the sight of a matte lip formula these are the perfect alternative. They are perfect for achieving juicy full lips at a moments notice.

Essence is now available at Wilko.com with prices starting at only £1.
