ColourPop Pressed Powder Highlighter in Here Kitty Kitty

I’ve bought a lot of products from ColourPop recently but among the mountain of Super Shock Shadows and Ultra Satin Lipsticks, there are two products that I have really fallen in love with. The first, unsurprisingly, is the ‘Yes, Please!’ Pressed Eyeshadow Palette because it’s a thing of Autumnal beauty and I can’t stop reaching for it. The second is the Pressed Powder Highlighter in Here Kitty Kitty ($8).

The pressed highlighters are currently available six shades and can be purchased either in a compact for $8 (although this pricing is for a limited time only) or a single pan which retails for $7. ColourPop also has a collection of pressed powder eyeshadows, bronzers and blushers, as well as empty magnetic palettes in various sizes to store them in. The white compact contains a mirror with a screen protector and a secure magnetic fastening which gives us international customers a little more reassurance that it will arrive in one piece. There are no shade names on the actual compact, only on the outer cardboard box which is very annoying if you’ve purchased more than one.

Here Kitty Kitty is that classic light champagne shade that every pale girl reaches for. There is no fallout, no chalkiness and no chunky glitter with this highlight, just a silky smooth, super blendable powder. Here Kitty Kitty isn’t overly glittery or metallic, it glistens like crushed pearls. It’s not as pigmented as their Super Shock Highlighter collection (it’s pretty similar to Smoke N Whistles) but it’s buildable, which makes it perfect for both everyday wear and a more intense selfie-ready look. Also, it doesn’t have that hard coating that you have to scratch away to find any pigment (Hello e.l.f., I’m looking at you!) but has a smooth satin feel, plus it doesn’t accentuate pores.

This is the perfect highlighter if you want a long-lasting, subtle glow that captures the light without looking too intense. It gives beautifully buildable and even coverage from the very first swatch. It’s actually a bit warmer than my current favourite, Moonstone by Becca, so I do wish (just like with their range of concealers) that they’d release a few lighter shades as, judging from the swatches online, this is currently the lightest in the pressed powder collection.
