The schools are finally back and Degustabox is full of lunchbox ideas that the kids will love. The Summer edition was full of huge brands including Rowntrees, Weetabix and, every mum’s favourite, Blossom Hill, however, as I have such a sweet tooth I think this month’s box is even better. The August box is full of ready-to-eat snacks, condiments, and instant meals to make getting back into the swing of things that bit more easy and tasty…
The quickest way to my heart is chocolate so when I saw that there was not one, but two sweet treats from Cadbury inside this month’s box, I was one happy subscriber! Not only will you find a bar of Cadbury Dairy Milk Big Taste Toffee Whole Nut (65p) but a bag of everyone’s childhood favorites now in bite-sized chunks. This resealable and shareable (yeah, right) bag of Curlywurly Squirlies (£1.99) contains delicious chewy caramel pieces covered in Cadbury milk chocolate that the whole family is sure to love.
If that wasn’t enough to satisfy my sugar cravings this pack of Bahlsen Pick Up! Black N White (£1.69) go perfectly with a cup of coffee. Each bar is individually wrapped so they’re ideal for sticking in my handbag for a mid morning treat. Each bar contains two crisp chocolate flavoured biscuits with white chocolate sandwiched in between, what’s not to love about that? This month’s final guilty pleasure is a bag of Refreshers Softies (£1). Adding a new twist to an old favourite, these contain the original fizz in the form of a soft and fruity chew.
There are two different beverages this month; one for the kids and one for the adults. These two adorable Orangina Limited Edition Summer Bottles (£1.20) contain Orangina’s unmistakable soft sparkle and real citrus pulp which is sure to add a little fun to the kid’s lunchboxes and can even be used as a cocktail mixture to celebrate the end of the Summer hols. Just add a little crushed ice, gin and a wedge of lime and you have yourself a cheeky ‘Gin Gina’. Another treat for the adults is the Twisted Halo Coconut Water, Ginger & Vodka (£1.50). Containing only natural flavours and no added sugar this ready-to-serve drink is light, refreshing and guilt-free.
This month’s savoury snacks include a variety pack of original crinkle Seabrook Crisps (£1) containing three of their most popular flavours and two packets of Light Bites Popped Chips (99p each) which are under 100 calories, gluten free and packed with fibre and protein. As well as snacks the box contained two condiments: a squeezy bottle of Hellmann’s Real Mayonaise (£1.69) and Tabasco Green Pepper Sauce (£1.89), and two sachets of Maggi Fusian Noodles in Sticky Hoisin Duck and Fiery sweet Chilli (£1.39 each).
And finally, we have two pouches of JellySqueeze (69p each) a fruity snack that Penny gulped down so quickly that I had to prise it out of her wee hands to take this photo. She absolutely loved this and judging from the admittedly tiny amount I was allowed to try, I really enjoyed them too.
As you can see, this surprise monthly food box is packed full of newly released and innovative food products and can be delivered straight to your door for only £12.99 which includes delivery. Payment is collected on the 11th of each month, however, there is no commitment, if you decide to cancel just let Degustabox know before the 9th. I also have a discount code – 2RS8F – which gets first-time subscribers £7 off their first box. This means, all this could be yours for only £5.99!
