Have you ever ordered a product online to have it arrive and be surprised by how it looks in ‘real life’? When I opened my Beauty Bay delivery and saw the Jouer Long-Wear Lip Creme Liquid Lipstick, I was surprised, that even though I’ve seen this exact product used countless times in tutorials by US beauty influencers on YouTube, that the tube was so tiny (6ml). The outer packaging is lovely, who doesn’t love blush pink and gold and, wow, its scent?! That was another thing that surprised me. It has a very strong vanilla latte type fragrance, that thankfully I love but it differently packs a punch.
Jouer Cosmetics is a beauty brand I’ve been wanting to try for over a year (along with Ofra and Huda Beauty) and I honestly don’t know why it has taken me so long to see what all the fuss is about. I purchased Dulce de Leche, a matte cool pink-toned nude, even though my collection is currently overflowing with shades like this. Do you have a shade that you keep buying over and over again in different formulas?
The key to applying this product is to make sure that you have exfoliated your lips beforehand. The Jouer Lip Creme is very unforgiving, it settles into every crack and highlights every flaw. It offers full coverage colour from the very first swipe with no streakiness. It doesn’t completely dry down, which I personally prefer, it’s more of a satin matte finish that feels comfortable and lightweight. It’s also surprisingly long lasting considering it doesn’t completely dry down. It doesn’t crack or flake like other matte formulas I’ve tried (ColourPop I’m looking at you) and I’m in love with the shade I chose. Jouer is definitely a brand I will be purchasing from again. Next time, I think I’ll try their iconic Skinny Dip Lip Topper.
The Jouer Long-Wear Lip Crème Liquid Lipstick retails for £15/6ml and is available from Beauty Bay.
