The I Love Colour Intensifying Eyeshadow Base is one of Essence’s best-selling products and one I’ve been wanting to try for months. It comes in a standard clear plastic tube with a sponge doe foot applicator. Unlike my beloved Primer Potion from Urban Decay, it doesn’t feel silicone based but creamy and thick like a concealer. It’s available in only one shade which is a touch too dark for me personally, so I tend to only use this under dark or foiled shades like my UD Moondust palette.
It’s creamy texture doesn’t settle into creases and dries down quickly without feeling heavy on the lid, which is great if you have oily eyelids. It not only increases the longevity of my eyeshadow but intensifies the colour, making them appear more vibrant and opaque; especially glitter based shades. As I said, it’s surprisingly dark so unfortunately, I don’t find myself reaching for this product on a daily basis. I did wear it just last week at an evening wedding reception when I was wearing a more glam look and it created a smooth base to build on top of and there was no visible creasing or fading when I went to remove it.
The Essence I Love Colour Intensifying Eyeshadow Base is available from Wilko (here) and retails for only £2.50.
