Rimmel has been seriously killing it recently with all their recent launches. Their most recent are the Volume Shake Mascara, Brow This Way Brow Powder and (my personal favourite) the Only 1 Matte Lipstick collection; all of which can be found here. The Super Gel Nail Polish Collection is a two-step gel system that promises salon quality nails for up to 14 days with no UV lamp required and they’ve just added five summer-ready shades to their already extensive collection.
The new colours are beautiful and vibrant, summer in a bottle comes to mind. I was sent five beautiful shades and that all important Super Gel Top Coat which activates the curing process. The nail varnish comes with a built-in base coat which means there’s no need to prep nails. Simply apply two coats like you would a normal nail polish (you might find it just a tad thicker) and then follow this with a layer of the Top Coat. It dries like a regular nail polish and is just as easy to remove.
Each nail varnish is rich in pigment although the lightest shade Purple Splash (lilac) is a little less opaque than the other four. Rimmel’s patented Gel Colour System uses natural light curing technology to deliver a glossy, professional-looking finish in the comfort of your own home. The ultra-accurate precision brush gives a streak-free finish which makes the Super Gel formula incredibly easy and quick to apply.

Rimmel claims that you can get up to 14 days wear but to be honest I never expected this and funnily enough, I didn’t get it. For me, this isn’t a deal breaker. I am notorious for painting my nails at night and waking up with chips, never mind getting two weeks wear out of them! I don’t even get this with a professional manicure. To put things into perspective, I work in a creche. That mean’s constant hand washing, changing nappies, dislodging Lego blocks, opening sippy cups… basically everything you shouldn’t do to prolong your manicure, my work involves. I only got five days wear, but that’s actually the most I have ever gotten from a non-professional nail polish.
