I’m sorry, but can we just take a minute and appreciate how utterly beautiful this is? Every time I glance at the Yves Saint Laurent Volupt Tint-In-Balm on my dressing table I fall in love with it more and more. This is the first YSL product I’ve ever purchased and I’m so happy that my wait is finally over. Yes, I’ve tried the odd fragrance and played around with their infamous Touche Eclat Highlighting Pen (is anyone else not entirely wowed by it?) but I’ve never really had the chance to visit a counter and swatch to my little heart’s content before. The packaging may be a little over the top for some but I think it’s utter perfection.
I went into Debenhams with the good intention of picking up a Clarins lip oil but ended up leaving with this, the ‘Luxurious’ Mascara for False Last Effect, the Touche Clat Blur Face Primer and a purse that weighed a whole lot lighter. Let’s be honest, the Volupt Tint-In-Balm is basically a fancy lip balm, but I just couldn’t resist leaving it behind. The formula melts onto the lips effortlessly, coating them with a non-sticky balm with a pretty flush of colour. It feels incredibly nourishing and smells delicious. I’m rubbish at pinpointing scents but It reminds me of watermelon and pomegranate with a sweet candy-like twist, whatever it is I love it.
The balm contains a blend of jojoba oil, coriander, macadamia oil, alongside extracts from apricots, passion fruit and pomegranate. It’s very comfortable, lightweight and doesn’t irritate my sensitive lips whatsoever. It makes my lips look juicier and more kissable without overloading them with colour. The colour-enhancing lip core runs the entire way through and while the colour is slightly buildable it’s still incredibly sheer so don’t expect any intense pigmentation. That’s not what the Volupt Tint-In-Balm is about, it’s about achieving that your-lips-but-better radiance. The balm leaves your lips with a pretty glow that is perfect for those days you can’t be bothered slapping on a full face of makeup but still want to look fresh-faced and youthful.
The Yves Saint Laurent Volupt Tint-In-Balm is available here and retails for £27.
