What’s In My Makeup Bag? #1 | Mama Mio, Oribe & Daniel Sandler

Before Penny I used to stuff every makeup product I put on my face straight into my makeup bag, now my cute handbag has been replaced with a practical changing bag and my primer and foundation have been replaced with teethers, hand sanitizer and rusks. How can someone so tiny need so many things?! My makeup bag used to overflow with products so I decided to cut way back and only carry the products that I ‘need’…

What's In My Makeup Bag #1 | Mama Mio, Oribe & Daniel Sandler

Rimmel London Stay Matte Pressed Powder in Translucent £3.99

This is one of my all time favourite ‘drugstore’ products. Although my Vichy Setting Powder performs so well that I don’t need to touch up as often as before, this is still handy for when skin is starting to look a little greasy or to set my concealer if an ugly spot decides to make an appearance (I’m 28 please give it a rest already). It gives an instant matte finish to my skin whilst controlling any shine and minimising my pores.

Daniel Sandler Long Lasting Eyeliner in Black Velvet £9.25

I recently fell back in love with this eyeliner. Its creamy formula basically melts on the eye, it’s so easy to apply yet doesn’t smudge. Its rich colour payoff makes this one of the most intense eyeliners I own.

Charlotte Tilbury Hot Lips Lipstick in Kidman's Kiss

Charlotte Tilbury Hot Lips Lipstick in Kidman’s Kiss £24

This is my perfect everyday lipstick for when I’m wanting a pop of colour. It’s overtaken MAC Creme Cup as my favourite muted pink shade. The formula is richly pigmented and the angled tip and creamy texture make application effortless. It has a semi-matte finish that doesn’t completely dry down making it feel comfortable and surprisingly lightweight.

Mama Mio Superstar in a Jar £10

To save as much space as possible multipurpose products are a must. This tiny tub is a miracle worker. The super balm contains Baobab, coconut, almond and olive oil and can be used to moisturise, heal and protect dry skin on the go. I use this on Penny’s cradle cap, on my lips, on her sensitive skin when her nappy rash is flaring up, on any dry patches of skin, on my cuticles and on her wispy hair that likes to stand on end if I forget her hair band. It can be used as a massage balm, to soothe shaving rashes, to tame your stray hairs… the possibilities are endless!

Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer £19

This is currently my favourite concealer, however, my Tarte Shape Tape has just been dispatched and, if the hype is to believed, I may have a new favourite very soon. This blends out beautifully and gives luminous, full coverage with a demi-matte finish that is surprisingly lightweight, plus it covers blemishes flawlessly.

Oribe Gold Lust Dry Shampoo £36 (Full Size)

I received this travel-sized dry shampoo in a Latest in Beaty box a few months ago. It’s without a doubt the best dry shampoo I have ever used. It instantly makes my hair feel cleaner and adds more volume and bounce. It doesn’t leave any powdery residue and smells heavenly. I’m not sure I could ever justify purchasing the full sized version but I am starting to understand the hype behind this brand.

I probably still carry around more than I need to but, believe me, my makeup bag is so much lighter than before. What essential makeup products do you insist on carrying around with you?
