I originally wanted to pick up the Pixi + Caroline Hirons Double Cleanse, but my skin has been so sensitive recently that I thought I’d better repurchase an old favourite that I know my skin loves. As I am a member of The Body Shop’s Love Your Body Club I was sent a £5 off voucher on my birthday and also took full advantage of a 30% off promo code so both these products and a couple of muslin cloths came to £13.90 with free delivery, which was also a huge factor in my decision making!
Several nights this week I’ve reached for the dreaded face wipe and slept in a full face of makeup (yes, I know, I judge myself) but no more; I’m on a mission to take better care of my poor wee face. I am already a huge fan of the Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter (90ml/£10), it melts my makeup away effortlessly; I even use it to clean my brushes. In the past, I’ve used plenty of cleansing balms, creams and milks, but never an oil. I think it’s because the thought of adding extra oil to my already greasy forehead and shiny nose terrifies me, however, after adding a rosehip oil and a certain Kiehl’s product to my nighttime routine I’ve come to realise that I don’t need to run and hide from oil based products.
The Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil (200ml/£12) contains camomile from Norfolk that is claimed to have anti-irritant properties which make the product particularly suitable for sensitive skin types. It’s simple to use, simply massage into dry skin, add water to emulsify and then rinse. I can’t emphasise how unbelievably soft my skin feels afterwards. I tend to use the balm at in the morning and the oil at night as it’s slightly richer. I admit, they basically both do the same thing, but I was curious to try another cleanser in the Camomile range as I seem to be getting through the butter at an alarming rate!
Both products remove every scrap of makeup including my mascara. It’s pretty fun gently massaging it in and trying to get your panda eyes as big as possible before washing it all off. It was my intention to add a cream cleanser into the mix and embrace the double cleanse trend but, let’s face it, just the thought of adding another step to my current skincare routine is exhausting.
