So, it’s time for a baby update! After several weepy days, Penny’s front tooth has finally made an appearance. She has almost mastered the art of crawling too, so it’s all hands on deck in the Watt household right now. When it comes to weaning, we as a family are taking a very relaxed approach. Currently, Penny is having a mixture of her bottle, snacks such a cut-up food and veg for her to experiment with. She eats ‘mini dinners’ that consist of a slightly healthier version of what we are having and pre-prepared jars and pouches, which come in particularly handy for travelling. The most important thing at the end of the day is that Penny is getting all the nutrients she needs, a full belly and is having fun discovering new textures and tastes. It’s all about Penny developing a positive relationship with food that will hopefully set her up for years to come and Babease are helping us to accomplish this.

Babease was founded by chef Tom Redwood who later joined forces with a team of experts including certified nutritionists, food technologists and paediatricians. Their aim was to develop a range of honest meals with real flavours and real ingredients. As a mum, it’s important to know what’s in the food we serve to our little ones, and what I love about Babease is how open, honest and transparent they are. Their vegetable-led recipes contain only the finest 100% organic ingredients, no preservatives or additives and are gluten, egg and dairy-free. The packaging clearly states what’s inside each pouch and why. For a busy mum, I love how this is clearly broken down.

As soon as I posted a photo of the Babease range on Instagram the number of grown adults that thought the flavour combinations sounded delicious was unreal! Right now, Penny is eating a lot healthier than I am so I love that there’s a hidden treat inside the pouch. At the back of the cardboard holder, there are healthy recipe ideas for mums to cut out and keep. I appreciate the handy reminder that mums need to be aware of their own nutritional needs too.

But let’s talk about one of the most important aspects of this range – does Penny actually like the taste of them? I’m relieved to announce that she adores them! Horray! Penny is really picky about the savoury dishes I prepare for her but she has no problem devouring the unique flavour combinations Babease have created. We were very kindly sent a canvas bag full of different meals suitable for Stage 1 (+4 months) & Stage 2 (+7 months) including –
