Yes, I bought ANOTHER highlighter. ]A few years ago I didn’t own a single one and heard very little people talking about them. Now it seems like the whole world is obsessed with glowing cheekbones and sparkling cupid’s bows. It was only a matter of time before I reviewed one of the best-selling highlighters of all time: the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed.
As much as I was drawn to the now infamous Champagne Pop and Opal, I knew that Moonstone and Pearl were more suitable shades for paler skin. I chose Moonstone, a pale gold with striking similarities to my Mary Lou Luminizer from The Balm.
The compact is beautiful and heavy, although the rubberized matte finish has a tendency to look grubby. It features Becca’s signature silver disc in the middle and a mirror inside.
Moonstone is slightly cooler than Mary Lou but gives the cheeks the same delicate glow with subtle flecks of sparkle. The powder is finely milled which gives it a soft, almost creamy feel and a smooth texture with an even distribution of pigment. It reflects beautifully as and when it catches the light and doesn’t accentuate pores. Although only a little is needed to create a subtle glow it’s also very buildable depending on how ‘poppin’ (is that what the kids are saying these days?) you want your highlight to be.
The Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Moonstone is available from SpaceNK and retails for £32/7g.
