As soon as payday arrived I knew exactly what I was going to treat myself to. Although this is the first Laura Geller product I’ve ever purchased, it’s a brand that’s been on my radar for quite a while now. Whilst I’ve been tempted in the past to pick up their best-selling Spackle Primer, it was actually their beautiful range of highlighters that made me finally take the plunge.
I mean, just the name of this product makes me happy. What self-respecting highlighter junkie wouldn’t swoon at the thought of adding a ‘Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator’ to their collection? The hardest thing about making this purchase was deciding what shade to pick up first; Peach Glow is definitely next on my hit list.
The highlighter comes in a basic plastic pan with a 3D design on top inspired by Laura’s favourite Italian dessert. Charming Pink is a pale icy pink that gives a pearlescent glow wherever applied. Its hybrid texture applies like a sheer powder but feels as soft as a cream. It gives such a pretty luminous highlight that lasts all day. Even though the pan contains only 4.5g of product, only the tiniest amount is needed to instantly brighten your complexion, plus it makes for a stunning eyeshadow when applied to the centre of your lid or the inner corner.
This pretty shade really is a pale girl’s best friend. If you want a more intense glow, don’t worry, the formula is also incredibly buildable depending on what look you’re going for. To sum up, the Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator is as yummy and dreamy as it sounds and was a wonderful introduction to the Laura Geller collection.
