Yes, I know I just wrote that I was going to stop spending my money on drugstore highlighters, but this one is even cheaper than those on the high street, so how I could I resist? I first read about this highlighter on Miss Makeup Magpie, then on Pink Daisy Loves and then saw it featured over on Sophdoesnails YouTube channel. I had to have it! I picked mine up from Amazon for only £2.09 with free P&P (here).
It’s worth noting that the design of the pan and the pretty pink champagne shade are both very similar to my MUA Undress Your Skin Highlighter in Pink Shimmer (RRP £3) which you can see for yourself in my previous review available here. The packaging is basic but practical, as I’d expect considering the price tag; you can’t really complain if you’re paying just over £2 for 12g of product! What I love about this highlighter is that it’s not glittery, which is a rarity for affordable highlighters these days. For example, I nearly choked to death swatching New Look’s instore collection with the amount of sparkly kick-back that came off it.
My favourite way to apply this highlighter is with my Morphe 510. The pan seems quite dry at first but it’s surprisingly easy to pick up and effortless to blend. It adds a beautiful luminosity to your face that really brightens your whole complexion, unfortunately, this is quite difficult to truly capture in a photo. It looks quite chalky in my photos below, which I promise you is not the case.
I’m really impressed with the pretty, almost icy, glow it gives my cheeks; it’s perfect for paler skin tones and anyone tired of overly powdery and glittery highlighters that get everywhere. For £2, you just can’t go wrong. The Technic Get Gorgeous Highlighting Powder is also available in bronze for darker skin tones which can be found here.
