Is it now safe to mention the L word on social media? Boxing Day is one of my favourite days of the year. It’s a time to pop on your new PJ’s, stuff your face with festive leftovers and be grateful for all the lovely gifts you have just received. So, you can imagine my disgust when I popped onto Twitter for 5 minutes between devouring selection boxes to find tweet after tweet of pure unadulterated rage over a 50% off bath bomb. Yes, the website was obviously slow but that’s no reason to harass the poor Lush social media team when they are already on a downer about having to return to work so soon. The amount of abuse they got was unreal, but Lush handled the whole thing wonderfully and I take my hat off to them. Working in retail over the Chrismas period is pretty soul destroying so let’s hope people keep that in mind next year before they throw about the C word because they didn’t manage to purchase that fifth bottle of Snow Fairy. Anyway, let’s take a closer look at the Lush Love & Light Hand Cream…
I was lucky enough to receive the beautifully packaged Hello Gorgeous gift set prior to Christmas which also contained: The Comforter Bubble Bar, Gorgeous Facial Moisturiser (10g), Sex Bomb Bath Bomb and Rub Rub Rub Shower Scrub (130g). Love and Light (£8.95/100ml) has a very runny consistency but smells wonderful due to the combination of neroli, jojoba and orange oils. I honestly can’t stop smelling my hands the scent is so dreamy.
Unfortunately, I was disappointed by the residue this product left on my hands. It doesn’t fully absorb into the skin, it leaves them feeling slightly greasy. It’s the same sort of feeling I get near my roots when I’ve used too much dry shampoo, there’s a heaviness and a coating that drives me mad. It’s still intensely moisturising and has really helped saved my poor chapped hands this Winter, however, I only ever use it at night. It also makes for an amazing intensive overnight hand treatment when used with The Body Shop’s Moisture Gloves (£7) once a week. £8.95 seems very expensive for a hand cream, but if you think of it as a weekly treatment, this pot should last an awfully long time so could be worth the investment.
Did you manage to pick up any goodies in the Lush sale?
