La Roche-Posay | The Effaclar Duo [+] Unifiant Light

La Roche-Posay’s biggest launch of 2016 is a new take on the original bestselling Effaclar Duo [+]. For over 30 years La Roche-Posay has worked with dermatologists throughout the world to develop a range of products specifically designed to treat sensitive skin. Their newest release, the Effaclar Duo [+] Unifiant Light, promises to target the key signs of oily, blemish-prone skin whilst refining the skin’s texture, controlling the appearance of shine and unclogging pores.

La Roche-Posay | The Effaclar Duo [+] Unifiant Light

It comes in very similar packaging to the Effaclar Duo [+] and is also enriched with thermal spring water and contains no parabens. The Unifiant Light acts like a BB cream, giving sheer and lightweight coverage whilst slightly blurring out imperfections and hydrating the skin. This type of product usually leaves my skin feeling oily and looking dewy, however, it sinks into my skin quickly giving a matte finish perfect for applying my makeup on top of.

The cream helps to even out my skin tone, especially the red patches around my nose and although the shade ‘light’ is a little on the dark side for me I can make it work. It definitely improves the texture of my skin, it feels softer and more supple and I have yet to get a spot whilst using it. The product is advertised as suitable for acne-prone skin, because of this I thought it would be a little too harsh for my skin type, however, I’m pleasantly surprised at how gentle this product is. I’ve been using it daily as a primer. The only downside is the smell, I find it really unpleasant which is unfortunate as I like the actual formula.

The Effaclar Duo [+] Unifiant Light is available here and retails for £16.50/40ml.
