I have a number of favourite online beauty stores including Boots (I make full use of their collect in-store delivery service), Beauty Bay (usually for Morphe Brushes and Makeup Geek supplies), Naturisimo (for all my high-end skincare needs), Feel Unique (mostly for their Pick ‘n’ Mix sample service), Debenhams (for their amazing selection of brands and points system) and Fragrance Direct (because let’s face it, everybody loves a bargain). Recently I was introduced to another, Precious About Makeup or PAM; an online destination for professional makeup.
PAM was originally started by makeup artists for makeup artists, but don’t let this intimate you. I am by no means a MUA and I don’t pretend to be, however, I appreciate high quality, long lasting products and so do founders Kate Benton and Jan Sewell. PAM offers some of the best ‘pro’ brands on the market; such as Makeup For Ever, Ben Nye, Viseart and MUD. I was very kindly sent two products from the MUD Autumn Collection.
Make-up Designory, or MUD, specialise in professional makeup and have been used by makeup artists for the last decade. The MUD Eye Color in Bronzed (£14.95/1.8g) is rich, shimmery and even more intense when applied with a wet brush. It’s a beautiful shade that is incredibly long lasting, more so than any other eyeshadow I currently own. It blends easily and is highly pigmented. The only downside is the packaging, it’s a cheap plastic but I’ll just depot it and pop it into a ZPalette (which PAM also stock) along with my other favourites.
The MUD Sheer Lipstick in Mai Tai (£15.50/3.8g) is perfect for Autumn. The packaging is a little heavier and it reminds me of a MAC lipstick but with a flatter top. The lipstick itself smells amazing. It smells exactly like a Greggs Yum Yum in the tube. The formula is very creamy and leaves my lips feeling very soft. Once again, the longevity of the to formula is outstanding. It didn’t budge all day.
MUD is a brand I would recommend trying, especially if you have an all-day event and you are looking for high-quality, long-wearing products. Yes, the eyeshadows are more expensive than Makeup Geek but Bronzed is a great little investment. There are a number of other products that have caught my eye on PAM including their Ben Nye Setting Powder and Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Stick Foundation.
The MUD Sheer Lipstick (£15.50/3.8g) & MUD Eye Color (£14.95/1.8g) are now available at Precious About Makeup.
