One of my favourite budget-friendly drugstore brands, Natural Collection, has just released a new range of beautiful shimmering highlighters and must-have brow products, all for only £1.99 each. Once a brand I associated with my teenage self, pocket money and dodgy makeup experiments; Natural Collection’s recent festival-inspired collaboration with award-winning UK blogger Thumbelina Lillie (full review here) and their Summer #GetGlowing collection has rekindled my love for this often overlooked beauty brand.
Highlighters and brow products: two of the most talked about beauty trends of 2016, and both high-end and drugstore brands have been seriously cashing in. Natural Collection’s range now includes a brow pencil, brow gel and brow kit as well as a highlighter stick available in three shades, Copper, Rose & Coral Glow.
The dual sided Brow Pencil is available in two shades, dark brown and medium brown. The pencil is perfect for precisely filling in unsightly gaps and adding definition to my unruly brows. The pencil isn’t quite as pigmented as Benefit’s Goof Proof but it is buildable, incredibly long lasting and over £16 cheaper. The Brow Gel is also a convincing dupe for another of Benefit’s bestselling products, the Gimme Brow volumising gel. The formula is just as pigmented and long wearing and it helps brows to appear fuller whilst keeping any stray hairs under control. The gel also comes in medium and dark brow which, sadly, are both way too dark for me to pull off. Fingers crossed Natural Collection release a lighter shade or even a clear version for us fairer ladies.
The new Highlighter Sticks come with a lot of product and a creamy formula which is incredibly easy to apply, build and blend. All of the light reflecting shades give a luminous, shimmering glow to the cheeks. Coral Glow is pink with specks of gold glitter, Copper Glow is a bronze shimmer perfect for those desperately holding onto Summer and Rose Glow (my favourite) is a very pretty ice pink with silvery undertones. A little of these highlighters go a long way so for only £1.99 each these products are incredible value for money.
