Hi everyone, so today’s post is going to be super short and is one I thought I’d never get round to publishing! First of all, sorry The Beautiful Bluebird has been a little quiet recently the last three weeks have been an absolute whirlwind. For those of you who don’t follow me on Instagram or Twitter you may have not heard our amazing news. On Saturday 16th July, at around 5.30pm. Ross and I welcomed our beautiful baby girl into the world. To say it was the happiest and most emotional day of our lives is a complete understatement. Nothing could have prepared us for how quickly and deeply we’ve fallen in love with our little princess.
As you could probably imagine becoming parents for the first time has been both exciting and utterly exhausting. My labour was long and complicated and I’m taking longer to recover than I anticipated. Add to that 3am feeds, a conveyor belt of nappies, an endless queue of visitors and countless doctors appointments, and, well, you can probably guess why things have been a bit quiet around here recently. Even finding the time to sneak away as she naps to write this post in between sterilising bottles, folding a mountain of washing and making the tea was stressful. So for now, this is just a quick introduction to the little lady who has changed our lives forever. Her name is Penelope Ailsa Watt, she was 8.8 pounds and delivered two weeks after her due date by a forceps delivery. She has 10 tiny toes, 10 cute fingers, two podgy cheeks and two parents who adore her and, for now, I’ll leave it at that. Don’t worry, I expect there will be several thousand baby posts to come, that’s if she sleeps long enough for me to actually write them!
P.S. Thank you for all the lovely messages and comments I’ve received recently, I will reply to them as soon as everything has calmed down a bit but honestly, every single one means the world to me.
