I just want you to know that my readers and followers aren’t just numbers to me, I honestly feel so much support and love in this little community and that’s why I love taking the opportunity to sit and write these monthly updates. Blog wise I am delighted to have selected two winners for my Jelly Belly and Twitter giveaways. Unfortunately, due to massive errors with the Royal Mail, I will now be holding UK only competitions on The Beautiful Bluebird. Due to oversights, outwith my control, prizes aren’t reaching their international destinations and although the recipient has been more than patient with me, I’d hate to disappoint anyone else. On a lighter note, I am happy to report I am now officially on maternity leave and that there is just over a month until my baby girl’s due date. She is wriggling around more than ever now which is a weird but wonderful feeling. I’m pretty exhausted but have been on a major organising and cleaning spree in anticipation for her arrival. I also can’t wait to book a pregnancy massage at Clarity House and finally use my reflexology voucher for some much-needed pampering.
Blogs I’ve Been Obsessed With:
Dorkface – “Jemma is a full time blogger, illustrator and #TheGirlGang leader. She is a huge dork who loves to share snippets of her life and pour her heart and soul into her blog”.
Witch Cake – “Witch Cake is a fairytale lifestyle blog where Holly shares her love of fantasy, obscure fictional character references, and alternative fashion and beauty.”
Cattitude & Co – “‘Cattitude & Co’ is a reflective diary which offers frank discussion of topics such as feminism, body positivity, sex, and what it means to be a woman living in the 21st century.”
Skincare & Beauty products I’ve Been Loving:
Jurlique Rosewater Balancing Mist – It’s blend of precious rose essential oil and grapefruit seed provides natural antioxidant protection and designed to help improve skin tone, moisture level and skin balance.
Estelle & Thild Super Bioactive Collection – Their Age Control Serum not only smells heavenly, it leaves my skin feeling beautifully soft and gives my complexion a youthful glow that makes me look healthier and rejuvenated.
Morphe Brushes M510 & Natural Beauty Palette (pictured above) – Instagram followers would have noticed I recently picked up this eyeshadow palette and highlighting brush from Beauty Bay and I’ve been having so much fun creating different subtle daytime looks with both products. I can’t wait to share these both with you! I’d definitely recommend checking out their collection.
Skincare & Beauty products I’ve Been Disappointed With:
NYX Lingerie Liquid Lipstick in Baby Doll – The formula left my lips looking cracked and patchy, not to mention feeling uncomfortable and chalky.
Things That Have Made Me Happy:
Devouring a massive stack of banana, toffee and ice cream stack of pancakes on the first morning of my maternity leave.
The lovely response I had from my Anxiety & Staying Calm post.
All the wonderful pressies my baby girl and I received from my baby showers by my family and work colleagues, some of which can be found here.
Entering @jinks_karen Twitter giveaway and winning Soap & Glory goodies.
Things That I’ve Been Watching:
Ru Paul’s Drag Race – I got through 5 seasons in just a few weeks, I’ve become absolutely obsessed. Sharon Needles and Bianca Del Rio are my absolute favourites.
X-Men Apocalypse – I was a little disappointed by Marvel’s latest offering. I found it a little slow with the same story clumsily rehashed all over again. Good, but not a patch on Day’s of Future Past if you ask me.
I’d love to know what you have gotten up to this May.
Have you tried any new beauty products? Read or watched anything particularly amazing this month?
