Happy April 1st! I actually hate April Fools Day. I am the most naive and gullible person on the face of the earth so I really don’t appreciate a whole day dedicated to making me look like an even bigger tit than I already am! It’s been a while since I’ve wrote a chatty post that’s not been about babies, sorry about that I know that I’m slightly obsessed at the moment. Here’s a few things I’ve been up to/reading/loathing/loving this month.
Blogs I’ve Been Obsessed With:
Aimee Raindrop Writes – I’m very happy to announce that Aimee is my March advertiser. Why not catch up with her collection of shopping hauls, book reviews, beauty posts and monthly favourites?
Beauty, Books & Babble – Ashton’s Ultimate Printable Twitter Chat Timetable has been a lifesaver recently and I encourage you all to download it & get chatting!
Honeypop Kisses – I’m making an effort to discover more Scottish blogs and I instantly fell in love with Amanda’s personal style, lifestyle posts and cruelty-free beauty reviews.
Miss Makeup Magpie – Miss Makeup Magpie is pretty much every beauty lover’s dream blog. I’m not ashamed to say I visit it daily. Catching up with Gemma’s honest and detailed beauty reviews has become part of my morning routine and is one of the main reasons my bank account takes such a beating every month.
kkochsongi – Jasmine is always there to offer support and advice to a fellow mummy blogger, plus she’s just a genuinely lovely person. She’s a gamer, mum-to-be and Korean beauty expert and I love her eclectic mix of blog post and interests.
Skincare & Beauty Products I’ve Been Loving:
Neal’s Remedy Wild Rose Cleansing Balm – My current holy grail natural skincare product.
Kiko Milano Blending Wave Blush – My perfect Springtime peach-toned blush.
Nail Inc NailKale Base Coat – My nails have never been in such amazing condition and its all thanks to this little wonder. Look out for my review coming this April.
Skincare & Beauty Products I’ve Been Disappointed With:
Collection Speedy Highlighter (£3.99/10g) – It’s disappointing because it’s not a bad product, just poorly executed and slightly too dry.
No 7 Lovely Lashes Mascara (£12.95/7ml) – This mascara is completely underwhelming. It doesn’t curl, it doesn’t add any volume and it doesn’t lengthen. I’m not sure what it’s supposed to do to my lashes but it certainly doesn’t leave them looking lovely.
Pixi Glow Tonic (£18/250ml) – I really don’t get the hype surrounding this product. Look out for a review/rant coming soon this April.
Things That’ve Made Me Happy:
Hearing my little girl’s heartbeat at my antenatal checkup.
Having a whole week off work = no early mornings.
Things That’ve Made Me Sad:
Watching my nan grow increasing confused due to her dementia. Dementia really does have a devastating effect on the whole family, we’re staying positive but it’s a been a heartbreaking journey.
What I’ve Been Watching:
Laura Leth’s YouTube Videos – I’m obsessed. She posts three times a week and her tutorials are utterly mesmerising. I could watch them back-to-back for hours.
Once Upon a Time – I am loving Hades played by Greg Germann but I’m hoping for more Rumple & Bell storylines and less emphasis on sulky Miss Emma Swan. The character has become incredibly whiny and dull recently.
The Good Dinosaur – Lovely, but predictable.
What I’ve Been Reading:
The Paper Magician by Charlie N. Holmberg
What I’ve Been Baking:
Creme Egg Brownies – I added extra mini eggs to give it a little crunch which made them even better than last year. God, I’m going to miss Creme Egg season!
Chocolate Chip Banana Bread – Helen’s recipe only takes about 10 minutes to prepare yet it makes the most delicious banana bread that’s best served warm straight out of the oven.
