Okay, so fragrances really don’t come any prettier and feminine than the Versace Bright Crystal Eau De Toilette. I’m still deciding whether I love or loathe the packaging. Does the heavy crystal stopper with silver Versace crest and pink liquid look glamorous and chic? Or does it remind me of a gaudy copycat of a Katie Price perfume I used to sell at The Original Factory Shop for less than a tenner? Either way, it does look kind of fabulous sitting on my dressing table.
Bright Crystal’s scent is predictably girly and therefore very heavy on the florals. The fragrance contains; top notes of Yuzu, Ice Accord and Pomegranate, heart notes of Peony, Magnolia and Lotus Flower and base notes of Acajou, Plant Amber and Musk.
Bright Crystal is definitely a fragrance best suited to daytime wear in warmer months. It makes me feel youthful and happy; like I want to skip through a garden in a pretty, floaty dress or something. I find it lasts for around 5 hours without being too overpowering.
Versace Bright Crystal has its cons; the packaging is heavy and bulky, and not the most convenient to carry around in your handbag, plus it’s expensive; a 50ml bottle currently retails for £50 over at Boots.com. Like most high-end perfumes you can find some good offers, I picked up a gift set with a 50ml bottle, perfumed bath & shower gel and body lotion from Debenhams in their Christmas sale for half price. The Fragrance Shop is selling a 30ml gift set for only £22 while stocks last, so it’s definitely worth shopping around before writing it off. I’ve ditched the heavy bottle top and have been using this every day for the last couple of weeks and been receiving lots of lovely compliments.
Versace Bright Crystal is the ultimate feminine, pretty and playful scent. It’s perfect for those who love incredibly sweet scents such as Vera Wang Princess and YSL’s Baby Doll.
