It’s Degustabox* time! If you didn’t already know, Degustabox is a monthly lifestyle box that contains newly released, innovative food products from well-known brands at a discounted price. Each month, for only £12.99 including delivery, you receive an array of surprise products (many of which are completely new to the market), discounts, promotional codes and sometimes, recipe cards. You can also unsubscribe at any time, there is no commitment or contract. This month was my favourite box yet and was full of big brands including Lindt, Chewits and Weetabix.
Last month’s box contained Divine caramel chocolate bars, Mr Kipling’s Cranberry, Orange & Oat Slices, J20 Pear & Raspberry and Apple & Watermelon Spritz and Hartley’s Cranberry & Raspberry Fruit & Jelly pots. Check out my full review of February’s box here.
Lindt Chocolate Bunny (£2.99)
I squealed in delight to find this little guy in this month’s box. The adorable white chocolate bunny, complete with his signature ribbon and bell, is created with the highest quality ingredients to give a smooth, melt-in-the-mouth texture to Lindt’s legendary indulgent chocolate. This cutie was the first thing to get devoured upon opening my box and every mouthful was pure unadulterated heaven.
Brioche Pasquier Pain au Chocolat (£1.40)
The first of three breakfast table products this month is the new Pain au Chocolat from the French family favourite Brioche Pasquier now contains a layer of creme patissiere. I expected the creme patissiere to come oozing out but to be completely honest, I forgot it was even in there. That being said these are still delicious and I love how they’re individually wrapped to eat on the go.
Weetabix On the Go (2 x £1.50)
The Weetabix On the Go Breakfast Drink with extra protein contains all the energy and fibre of a bowl of Weetabix cereal with milk in a convenient drink. The extra protein keeps you feeling fuller for longer and contains 4 vitamins, iron and calcium. I found the drinks thick, really bland and difficult to digest. I really wasn’t a fan of either ‘flavour’; definitely not a product I’ll be picking up, regardless of how good for me they are.
A2 Milk (£1.39)
A2 Milk is pure cows’ milk that naturally contains only the easy to digest A2 protein making it suitable for those who suffer from intolerances to dairy and bloating.
Metcalfe’s Skinny Popcorn (£1.50)
I’ve seen Metcalfe’s Skinny Popcorn featured on Instagram and lifestyle blogs a lot recently so I was excited to give them a try. Cinema sweet is a new addition to the Metcalfe family and is naturally sweetened by stevia leaf extract, meaning that it contains 67% less sugar than other varieties on the market.
Kent’s Kitchen Stuffing (£1)
This little tub will be the perfect addition to Sunday’s Easter roast. Kent’s Kitchen stuffings are all made from natural ingredients including chunky pieces of fruit, herbs and spices. Simply add water, stir and bake!
Chewits (4 x 35p)
I couldn’t help but feel like a big kid munching away at these. Chewits were one of the first chewy sweets to hit the market and 50 years later they have become an iconic British brand loved by all. They’re still juicy, still moreish and just as delicious as they were back at primary school. This month’s box included 2 packs of blackberry and 2 strawberry.
Parle Biscuits (59p / 39p)
The chocolate covered Hide & Seek and savoury Monaco biscuits, both from Parle, where a lovely treat to enjoy in front of the TV. They are both really reasonably priced, moreish and definitely something I’d purchase again to nibble on.
Pipers Crisps (£2)
Even though I thought they were a relatively new brand Pipers Crisps has already won 23 Gold Great Taste Awards and have been voted ‘Best Snack Brand’ by the readers of Fine Food Digest 4 times! The Lye Cross Cheese and Onion variety were packed full of flavour and are the best quality crisps I’ve had in a long time.
Kallo Snacks (£1.89 / £1)
Kallo are all about creating natural, healthy snacks that don’t compromise on taste. The Milk Chocolate Rice Cakes were light but sweet enough to satisfy my mid-morning cravings and the Quinoa & Seed multigrain cakes were delicious with caramelised onion and mozzarella at lunchtime.
Karyatis Meze To Go (£1.99)
Finally, we have the Karyatis Meze to Go, a little pack containing a Mediterranean red pepper & feta dip accompanied by rosemary crackers. The tangy tip had a lovely smokey flavour and crackers were crisp and moreish. This pack is perfect for popping in your bag to liven up your lunchtime.
So this month’s box may not be the healthiest but it’s Easter weekend so now is the time to splurge! The Pipers crisps, Lindt bunny, Chewits and pain au chocolat were my obvious favourites with the Weetabix On the Go yoghurt drink being a definite disappointment.
