Last month’s ‘Healthy New Year’ box (full review here) featured a wide range of natural and low-fat products. While this box has no particular theme, it does contain a range of nutritional and ethically sourced products from big brands including Amoy, Clarks and Jordans.

Jordan’s Country Crisp Fruit & Nut
This wholegrain cereal contains a variety of seeds, dried fruit and nuts including cashews, almonds, raisins, apple and banana chips. This new addition to the Jordans County Crisp family is packed full of crunchy oat clusters that are baked to perfection and delicious fruity bursts of flavour that not only delight the taste buds but help me stay fuller for longer.

Amoy Taste of Asia Cooking Sauces
Famous for their oriental stir-fry sauces, Amoy is now venturing into the world of cooking sauces in its Taste of Asia range. Packaged in convenient pouches, these sauces help the ‘domestically challenged’ (*ahem* me *ahem*) to cook up authentic Asian dishes in just a few minutes with little fuss or effort at home.

Yushoi Snapea Rice Sticks
Available in four varieties (including Lightly Salted, Sweet Chilli & Lemon, Smoked Salt & Szechuan pepper and Soy & Balsamic Vinegar) these savoury snacks are made from baked green peas and rice for a Japanese twist on a British classic. At only 95 calories per serving these rice sticks contain no artificial colours or flavourings, are high in fibre, are vegan-friendly and nut free.

Clarks Carob Fruit Syrup
Clarks Carob Fruit Syrup originates from Spain and is a natural sweetener that contains a low glycemic index and 41% less sugar that white refined sugar. It’s great for anyone with a sweet tooth who wants to control their sugar intake, including those at risk of diabetics, heart disease and weight gain.

Slim Noodles Ready to Wok
Voted 2016 Product of the Year in the Healthy Food Category, these fat, carbohydrate, sugar and gluten free noodles contain only 9 calories per 100g serving. Made from all-natural Konjac flour and organic oat fibre Slim Noodles are a low-calorie alternative that can be served with your favourite sauces to help slow down digestion so that you feel fuller for longer. The range also includes rice and pasta alternatives now available at Holland & Barrett.

CROBAR Peanut Crunch Protein Bar
So one product that proceeded to turn my stomach this month is this all-natural dairy-free Peanut Butter protein bar. If my hatred for peanut butter wasn’t enough to put me off sampling this, the key ingredient to this Kickstarter-funded product definitely did – cricket flour. That’s right, crickets. Our insect friends are apparently high in protein and contain all 9 essential amino acids. An interesting idea, still not eating it though.

Finn Crip Original Slims
This classic 100% wholegrain rye recipe was developed in 1952 and still remains the most loved flavour by Finn Crisp consumers. Baked with sourdough each thin has a rich rye taste and is deliciously crunchy. I love to top with chutneys and cheeses.

Conscious Organic Raw Chocolate
Made with 75% cacao solids and vanilla, Conscious chocolate is deeply rich, handmade and vegan-friendly. Containing no dairy, refined sugar or gluten this chocolate is suitable for vegans, diabetics and coeliacs. The packaging is also biodegradable and compostable.

Coldpress Apple Juice
What makes Coldpress drinks different to others on the market? They use a revolutionary juice making method called cold pressure. They simply cold-press instead of heating their fruit and veg, which means their juices and smoothies preserve substantially more of the taste and essential nutrients which can be lost in traditional pasteurisation.

Tsingtao Beer
Tsingtao is currently the number one Chinese beer in the US and the number one imported consumer products from China. Founded by German settlers in 1903 and containing fresh spring water from Laoshan Mountain, the same place China’s ancient religious belief Taoism originated.

Whilst I gave the beer and cricket protein bar a miss this month, what with being a pregnant vegetarian in all, the full-sized box of Jordans Country Crisp, Slim Noodles and Amoy Taste of Asia sauces were my favourite products in the January box. I am delighted to offer my readers a whopping £7.00 discount off your first box with the promotional code: 2RS8F. This offer is a brilliant opportunity to try Degustabox and discover a whole range of new, innovate brands at a discounted price! Although I’m sure you’ll fall in love with Degustabox from your very first delivery, you can unsubscribe at any time so what have you got to lose?
