It’s day 4 of Natural Beauty Week; on Monday we looked at an organic and vegan hair care collection from Green People, on Tuesday four lovely products from Balance Me and on Wednesday, two honey and beeswax infused skincare treats from Bee Good. Today’s post features a cosmetic brand you may have already heard of, but perhaps wouldn’t associate with natural skincare; ModelCo.
The Australian beauty brand have developed award-winning beauty, suncare and beauty formulas since 2002. They have recently launched a natural, cruelty-free skincare collection that includes: a variety of cleansers, facial wipes, facial mists, serums, scrubs and moisturisers. The collection also contains two products I couldn’t wait to try out: the Rosehip and Macadamia Luxury Facial Oils (£15/17ml each).
Both tiny glass bottles come with a glass pipet applicator and, as you can see from the photo above, both oils contain pretty much the same ingredients. In fact the Macadamia version actually contains Rosehip oil too! Although one claims to ‘hydrate & balance’ and the other to ‘nourish & restore’, apart from the gorgeous natural fragrances, I really struggled to tell the difference between the two. That being said, this isn’t a bad thing, I adore the formula upon which both are based.
The oils absorb quickly into the skin (I used 3-4 drops every evening), are lightweight and surprisingly non-greasy. Using a facial oil was always going to be risky with my blemish-prone skin and at first I was worried they’d leave my skin shiny and clog my pores. Fortunately, this wasn’t the case. Both oils left my skin feeling soft and pampered within an inch of it’s life. As I said, I didn’t notice any overwhelming differences between the two but both were incredibly nourishing, as if they were feeding and infusing my skin with all their natural goodness. Both oils left my skin feeling rejuvenated and hydrated. I also felt they gave my skin a more radiant and plumper appearance.
Luxury is definitely the right word to describe these facial oils. Using them is like having a mini treatment everyday. I think I’ll repurchase the Rosehip version, as it’s my favourite scent of the two and I found the formulas pretty interchangeable. As the cold weather, bitter winds and frosty mornings start to creep in, the ModelCo Luxury Facial oil maybe the natural, cruelty-free savior your skin needs.
