Recently I was sent several samples from Nanokeratin System including their Restore Preserve Colour Shampoo* and Replenish Colour Preserving Mask*. Nanokeratin System are a global leader in professional hair care, however, it wasn’t a company I had previously heard of, regardless, I was excited to try products that would hopefully nourish my fiery red tresses and help me to retain that ‘just coloured’ vibrancy that can quickly fade.
Nanokeratin Systems have created a scientifically proven molecular hair repair and enhancement system inspired by the power of nature. Their unique and innovative formulas contain amino acids and biometric ingredients to repair the hair from its cortex, therefore nourishing and restoring moisture levels from root to tip. Both the shampoo and mask are formulated with an inherent anti-fade effect that deeply conditioned my hair without stripping it of any colour. I noticed that even after the very first treatment my hair felt incredibly soft. My hair is thick and wavy so I’m prone to a lot of frizz, however, after using the mask it was smoother and generally more manageable. My colour still looked intense several weeks after it had been dyed (I used Schwarzkopf Live Color XXL in Real Red in case you were wondering), which is unusual for my hair. I also noticed the combination of shampoo and mask gave my hair a lovely healthy shine.
The only disappointing thing about the Colour Preserving Mask & Shampoo is the price. The shampoo retails for £18.75/320ml and the mask, £52/500ml. Initially that seems rather expensive, however, Nanokeratin claim that the mask actually lasts for up to 50 uses and the shampoo should last approximately 50 days. If this is precisely their price tags are pretty reasonable considering how brilliant both products are.
