Lush’s The Experimenter Bath Bomb Review

This weekend I was lucky enough to get my hands on one of the products from last week’s Wednesday Wishlist with LushThe Experimenter (£3.95). I can’t tell you how excited I was to try this. I got myself ready, camera in hand, for the explosion of rainbow-coloured foam and bubbles I had been promised.

Lush's The Experimenter Bath Bomb - A Little Disappointing...

And I wasn’t disappointed! The bath bomb immediately split into two. One side effervesced an explosion of yellow and greens and the other beautiful bubbling purple and blues fizzed away. This continued for a couple of minutes, as I went to put away my camera I returned to find this…

A bath tub of murky, grey water. I couldn’t help be a little disappointed. Don’t get me wrong, it smelled heavenly but it wasn’t exactly inviting. As the bubbles coated my skin I could feel Lush’s legendary combination of natural oils and fair trade ingredients get to work. It’s been 3 hours since my bath and I can still smell it’s fragrant vanilla scent on my skin. The only thing I can really say about The Experimenter, after all it’s hype, is that it’s ‘nice’. Nothing special. Something I might put in a child’s bath to make it more magical and fill them with wonder. I won’t be buying it again but I wouldn’t be overly distraught if someone purchased it for me. I’d rather buy The Comforter or Butterball, two products with no fads or hype, just good quality products that will stand the test of time.

Have you tried The Experimenter?
