During the #bbloggers Twitter chat last week I asked what everyone’s favourite budget beauty brand was, and the answer was overwhelming: MUA. I’ve reviewed a few MUA pieces in the past including their £1 lipsticks and blusher collection and was pleasantly surprised by both their longevity and pigmentation, considering their tiny price tag. MUA have recently added a line of Sweet Sheen Lip Balms to their collection and I couldn’t wait to see if they lived up to the same high standards.
I picked up Coral Reef, Peach Dream and Pink Lilly for £2/2.8g each at Superdrug. The collection also includes plum, cherry and violet shades. Each balm glides on easily, instantly softening and melting on the surface of the lips.
Each tinted lip balm gives a hint of colour with a very subtle shimmer. All three leave the lips hydrated and looking incredibly juicy and full. I would happily wear every shade, however I did find that the lightest, Pink Lilly, tended to sit in the cracks of my lips making the colour look patchy, but this could easily be avoided with the use of a lip scrub such as Lush’s Bubblegum or the Etre Belle Liplift Peel.

All three shades are incredibly buildable and I found that each lasted a good 2 hours before I had to top it up. Once again MUA has released yet another winner!
