Although I adore my high-end brands, I honestly believe that high-quality beauty products don’t have to always break the bank. There’s so many amazing bargains and dupes available out there, I even found one today for my beloved MAC Creme Cup which I will be sharing with you soon! Today I’m introducing yet another affordable beauty brand – 2True Cosmetics.
2True very kindly sent me a whole range of products from their collection to try, including (from left to right); the Colour Drench Lipgloss in No 7, Wow! Volume Mascara, BB Beautiful 8 in 1 Formula, Pro Bright Touch Concealer, 8 Hour Power Lip Colour in Gwyneth/Dusky Pink, Wow! Gloss for Lips in No 5, Fast Dry Colour Quick Nail Polish in Shades 26 and 24, Wow! Colour for Eyes in Amethyst, Pro Tech Extreme Eyeliner in Black and Easy Glide Eyeliner in Dark Brown.
With so many goodies to try I thought I’d split up the collection into 4 posts so my lovely readers could have a closer look at every product available in a bit more detail – All About the Nails (Part 2), All About the Eyes (Part 3) and All About that Face/Base (Part 4) are all heading your way, very, very soon. So let’s take a closer look at three luscious lip colours…
2True 8 Hour Lip Colour in Gwyneth/Dusky Pink
Named after an array of Hollywood starlets this collection of liquid lipsticks retail for £4.99 each. I have to admit I rolled my eyes when I read it claimed to stay put for 8 hours as I’ve been let down by similar products before. I found myself replying after about 3-4 hours, as the lipsticks matte finish had a tendency to sit in the creases of my lips after a few drinks. I really didn’t mind this though as the ‘lip sculpting’ applicator allows for quick and precise application and the formula is lightweight and sinks into lips effortlessly without dragging or leaving a sticky residue, so it’s easy to reapply. I love this soft English rose shade, it gives a very classic understated look and is very highly pigmented.
2True Wow! Gloss for Lips in No 5
This is one of my favourite products from the entire collection! This lip crayon definitely has the wow factor. This intense shade gives a beautiful pop of colour and a high gloss finish that is sure to get you noticed! I find that achieving precise definition can be tricky with all chubby crayon style applicators. When applying such an intense colour like Powerful Pout I find it’s all about taking it slow and using a lip brush to line the lips before building up the colour. The super soft formula glides on to lips effortlessly and for only £2.99 I can’t wait to try all the other shades in this collection.
2True Colour Drench Lipgloss in No 7
And finally, a high shine lipgloss that leaves lips looking deliciously juicy and kissable. The most subtle shade of the three, the Colour Drench lipgloss in No 7 coats the lips in a long lasting high shine gloss which is perfect for Summer. I have very sensitive lips but I’m happy to report that this sweet smelling gloss doesn’t irritate them like other budget lip products. The 2True Colour Drench Lipgloss retails for only £2.29.
