If this is your first time reading Pampering for a Pound all you need to know is that I love a bargain, and I simply can’t resist a Poundworld, Poundland, B&M, Home Bargain or charity shop without having a nose. It’s a very hit or miss business but usually I come away with some great little finds like the ones featured today.

Let’s start off with my two Rimmel finds; the Colour Rush Long Lasting Balm in 610 Sun-kissed and Wake Me Up Instant Radiance Shimmer Touch in 001 Flush of Pearl. Colour Rush is a balm in the form of a jumbo pencil, which allows for easy and precise application. The formula glides on easy, moisturising lips and giving an intense pop of colour. This product is a dupe of the Revlon Color Burst Lacquer Balm and although this colour is no longer availble in stores, the Rita Ora Make me Blush version looks very similar online. The balm has a delicate vanilla fragrance which is not too overpowering and it’s longevity seriously impressed me! This richly pigmented shade is perfect for the upcoming summer months and keeping my lips hydrated and kissable.

This tiny (14ml) tube of Wake Me Up Instant Radiance Shimmer Touch in 001 Flush of Pearl is a lightweight, blendable mouse-like formula that at first appears rather ‘orangey’ on the back of my hand, however once smoothed onto my skin the orange pigment disappears leaving delicate glow that illuminates my skin. Unfortunately I didn’t find this product to be very long lasting but I can see me using this on my holiday to add a little sun-kissed glow to my cheeks whilst on the beach.

The shelves were packed full of Barry M goodies when I was in store last week. These were the most wearable and understated shades available, as there were a lot of garish colour combinations to chose from so I quickly snapped these two up. I know, the last thing I’m needing is another eyeshadow palette but I always feel you can never go wrong with a smokey eye trio! The eyeshadows are richly pigmented, super soft and very blendable, however I found there to be a lot of shimmery fallout with this palette so application got a little too messy for my liking. This trio definitely isn’t of the usual high quality I have came to expect from Barry M, so sadly another slightly disappointing product.

The Super Soft Eye Crayon in No5 from Barry M however is a great little product! The easy glide-on formula doesn’t catch or drag across my eye but melts into the lash line easily. The shimmering lilac shade is also very ‘smudgeable’ to give a delicate look that doesn’t crease or fade throughout the day.

I was really impressed with my Colour Rush Balm and Super Soft Eye Crayon, I’ll definitely be keeping my eye out for other shades but I’m afraid I won’t be purchasing the Wake Me Up Shimmer Touch or Eyeshadow Trio again.  What do you think about pound shops – have you picked-up any bargains recently? Please leave me a little comment below and don’t forget to follow me on bloglovin, it always makes my day hearing from my lovely readers!
