I’m happy to report my obsession with Makeup Revolution’s stunning collection of palettes has reached an all time high. Not only have I recently fell in love with their Iconic Pro 2, Highlighter and Bulletproof Ultra Brow sets, last week I was sent this beautiful I ♥ Make-up Black Velvet Palette* and well, it’s left me a little weak at the knees…
The packaging made me little apprehensive at first; the plastic black jewel heart and the velvet top, what dramatic over-the-top shades might be hiding inside? Wow, was I pleasantly surprised! 13 elegant nude & neutral matte shades with 3 shimmers that, you’ve guessed it, glide onto the eye smoothly, just like velvet – my idea of total perfection!
The full sized mirror and shade names are a nice added touch to this palette. I love the combination of day-to-night shades, my favourites are Sweet, Please, Wild & Cry, as shown on the swatches below. The pale colours like Baby and Tender are quite sheer but make for perfect highlighting shades.

Another beautiful combination of 16 matte and shimmers/metallics from I Heart Makeup & Makeup Revolution! The shades are long lasting and very blendable. The eyeshadows aren’t as ‘chalky’ as other budget palettes but more creamy making applying easy with barely any fallout. The set comes with a basic sponge applicator which is handy however I recommend using a tool like my Real Technique Blending Brush to get the most out of this palette. The combination of shades provided are incredibly flattering and so much fun to play about with as they’re very versatile, you can create so many different day and night looks with this one palette!
