So no prizes for guessing what Boots Star Buy I snapped up at Christmas! Every Soap & Glory fan knows, as soon as the Boots Christmas catalog is released, it’s just a matter of time until the mother of all Soap and Glory gift sets – The Next Big Thing by Hattie Stewart, is reduced to half price. This year it included 10 products worth over £75 all for the bargain price of £29! It included Hand Dream, Orangeasm Body Wash, Butter Yourself Lotion, Heel Genius, Sugar Crush Body Scrub, Whipped Clean Shower Butter, The Righteous Butter, Off Your Face Cleansing Cloths, Sexy Mother Pucker Lipgloss and Thick & Fast Super Volume Mascara.
So why is Soap and Glory so well liked? Personally, I like how the brand doesn’t take itself too seriously, you just have to look at their Sexy Mother Pucker Lipgloss to figure that one out! The brand itself is fun and flirty but has the goods to back it up, I’ve yet to try one of their products that didn’t live up to the hype. I adore the colour scheme and 50’s inspired pin up girls (that actually look like real women) on their packaging and the combination of scents used in their products.
With so many products to get through I thought I’d split this bundle up into a series of posts. Today I’ll be looking at The Righteous Butter & Sugar Crush Body Scrub. I’ve been a huge fan of Soap and glory for a long time now, ever since I was given a gift set full of travel-sized miniatures as a birthday present. It included a scented body mist, Hand Food, Flake Away, Clean on Me and, of course, The Righteous Butter. I instantly fell in love with the fragrance of their lotions (‘Original Pink’). The product that stood out for me however was without a doubt, Soap and Glory’s legendary bath time treat – The Righteous Butter (£10.50/300ml).
This award winning (Elle Beauty Awards 2011) body butter contains softening shea butter & aloe Vera, perfect for even very dry skin, and is one of Soap & Glory’s bestselling products. A handful of this thick and creamy lotion after a bath simply melts into damp skin. Skin is left incredibly soft and hydrated, and not to mention smelling heavenly! The ‘Original Pink’ scent contains; bergamot, mandarin, rose, jasmine, peach, strawberry, oakmoss, amber and warm vanilla notes to create their signature fragrance. Plus the butter features a new dynamic ‘moisture trap matrix’ to help hold hydration in longer. Recommend for all skin types, especially very dry skin, The Righteous Butter will leave your skin feeling like silk, delicately scented and hydrated all day long. It is also one of my all time favourite body moisturisers. Now let’s have a look at another good-enough-to-eat- product the Sugar Crush Body Scrub (£8/300ml).
The Sugar Crush Body Scrub belongs to another of Soap & Glory’s scent families. As soon as you lift lid you are greeted by an invigorating and tropical combination of freshly squeezed limes, lemon, sweet vanilla musk and almond oil. I can see how it might be overpowering for some, but I personally love it! Also containing a blend of sea salt, smashed brown sugar, glycerin and macadamia oils, the exfoliator leaves even the thirstiest of areas (elbows, knees & ankles) feeling smooth and soft within seconds. Use this before The Righteous Butter are you’ll be a guaranteed smoothie all day!
