Today I was catching up on some blog reading and stumbled upon the lovely Sofia at Miss Fixed Beauty. As I sit here in my festive PJ’s watching Harry Potter and munching on a selection box I thought this would be the perfect time to give her Christmas Tag ago – I also tag all bloggers to do this! 1. What is your favourite Christmas Movie?
As everyone knows I’m a huge Christmas movie lover! If I had to chose one it would be The Santa Clause (1994) staring Home Improvement’s (I used to love that programme) Tim Allen. I watch it every Christmas Eve with my little brother with a mountain of sweeties, it’s became a bit of a tradition! I do however adore Elf, Home Alone & The Polar Express too! 2. Do you open your presents on Christmas Eve or Christmas morning?
My Fiance and I exchange gifts on Christmas Eve but the rest are left till first thing on Christmas morning – we tend to get up very, very early in my household!
3. Do you have a favourite Christmas memory?
Every Christmas morning when I was little, once my brother and I had just finished opening our stockings we waited patiently till we were finally allowed to go downstairs and peek at all the presents under the tree. We used to follow a trail of ‘Santa’s’ glittery snowy footprints down the stairs and scream in excitement once we opened the living room door and saw the mountain of goodies under the tree – nothing tops that level of happiness for a little kid!
4. Favourite festive food?
Probably all the amazing desserts – I have a ridiculously sweet tooth! We usually have either raspberry panna cotta or profiteroles after Christmas dinner, or in my case a bit of both.
5. Favourite Christmas gift?
One year I received tickets to see my favourite band – Muse! I was so excited I nearly cried, we had an amazing weekend away in Manchester to see my boys, definitely the best surprise ever.
6. Favourite Christmas scent?
I love to surround myself with festive smells. Right now my candles, potpourri, oil burner and diffuser are circling sweet orange, cinnamon and cloves around my living room. I also love Yankee Candles Christmas Cookie tartlets.
7. Do you have any Christmas Eve traditions?
As I’ve mentioned above The Santa Clause and sweeties! This year I’m organising a little Christmas Eve party for our families so hopefully if that goes well we I could start a new tradition.
8. What tops your tree?
My tree went up November 30th, but I don’t put anything on the top of my tree, is that strange? Check out my Instagram for the pics.
9. As a kid what was the one (crazy, wild, extravagant) gift you always asked for but never received?
For years I wanted a rabbit but thankfully my parents never gave in, as straight after Christmas I was never that bothered about not receiving one. I think it was just because my best friend had one and I was a little jealous plus I loved the thought of getting a pet for Christmas which is never a good idea!
10. What’s the best part about Christmas for you?
Seeing people unwrap the presents I’ve bought for them and their faces lighting up when I’ve surprised them or got it right. I try to make my pressies more thoughtful than expensive so it’s a lovely feeling when I’ve got it right!
